CFSBK’s Fourth Art Show is TONIGHT
CFSBK’s fourth Art Show is TONIGHT from 7-10pm. Free entry and alcohol (and La Croix).
The show will feature live tattooing by Brooklyn artist Jim Gentry (get on the wait list here), textiles for sale by Brooklyn artist Bekka Palmer, and photographs and Pop art by New Jersey artist Jon Arias.
At 8:30PM, CFSBK members Alona Katz and Erica Dohring will present an aerial hoop performance, which will be followed by a dance/spoken word performance by Sacred Circle Theatre Company featuring CFSBK member Anise.
Artistic sweet treats by Michele Knaub will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefitting the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

Worked on hand stands, kipping and toes-to-bar to improve form. Wasn’t counting reps. Just focusing on a solid core and stability. TTB feels a lot better and less swingy when I can stay active.
Worked up to a heavy set of 5 over head press of 105 and tested my one rep max for deadlifts and set a new PR of 345 (325 previous)
Saturday there was no way I could do this metcon so I did short circuit. Had to scale down a few movements but felt strong throughout. After I was done I tried some bar muscle ups using a black band and nailed 2! Lots of firsts this week!

Saturdays always leave me so jealous of all the group fitness fun and gainz… strong fit, short circuit, partner workouts! Ugh! I want to playyyyy!
2pm solo session. still a bit under the weather so kept it simple.

:30 handstand hold
3ea single arm ring row negative @ 31-5 (up with both arms)

8ea contra lateral single arm DB press in lunge (20, 25, 30×3 – extra set)
8ea suitcase DL @ 20×1 (24kgx2, 32kgx2)
12 supine hollow hold lat pull down (red, blue x3)
6 sets:
:20 pistols (calf support) – about 10 reps per, sometimes a bonus rep
:20 push jerks @ 105# – 7 reps each
:20 overhead hold @ 105# — OUCHIE!
1:00 rest
this got very spicy from set 3 onward. jerks felt pretty snappy and the hold was no big deal at first but that definitely added up. mostly in my wrists! put some tape on halfway through.

Finally got to partner with Kayleigh…got to see the magic happen! We broke up this workout pretty well and didn’t need to take any extra rest which was awesome. I think we pushed the limit pretty well too! Finished in 27:21

Did AGS and then while stretching back over at 597 was inspired by watching the noon class crush it so joined the 1pm. There were a few badass times posted today, so awesome!
Partnered with Kristin (Kristen?) who rocked it – worked steadily through in 34ish if memory serves. Felt good about our strategy and pacing, just kept moving and sped up a bit toward the end. Conquered my fears of American swings and went Rx though I was generous with counting a few of those WBs. Despite my general dislike of WBs this was fun! I heart partner workouts.

You were an awesome partner Christine, and really kept me motivated. I was nervous to get started (if you couldn’t tell), sleep deprived and not feeling 100%. Once we got going, I felt great. Love me a partner workout!
