Today is a scheduled rest/recovery day, but don’t worry! We are open and running on our normal schedule. In today’s CrossFit group classes, you’ll have the option of doing either yesterday or tomorrow’s programming, which can be found in the comments section of today and every Rest Day’s post. And in case you missed it, the rest day is going away effective March 25th. Hurray for 7 days of programming!

6am with KHarpz doing 19.4
I wanted to get this one out of the way, so was the guinea pig this morning. Tiebreak time of 5:01 and then flailed on the bar for a bit. I did the first set of snatches unbroken and then 6-4 for the last two sets. I maybe could’ve done this a little faster, but haven’t gone dark in a workout in a long time. I think I did a good job of paving the way for Kayleigh to crush it 🙂
Kayleigh says
It was delightful being the guinea pig with Linda this morning. Well, except for the 3:38 I was actually moving. Went to a dimly lit place, not totally dark. No BMUs today.
The Fran cough is real right now (three hours later).
Stella says
WOW, that’s a hell of a tiebreak time tho.
Stella says
I’m off work today so I came in for 8 AM, which meant Sara G and I judged each other! Yay!
5:17 tiebreak, and a few wholehearted but half-coordinated attempts at BMUs. It would’ve been an Open miracle if it had happened, but I’m not mad at this result.
A little more on the aggressive side of “aggressively chill” today. Snatches were fast and unbroken except for the last set (6-4). Burpees sucked.
I stuck around for Short Circuit afterward so I could say I did at least a little more than 5 minutes of work today.
Stella says
PS, ups to Sara G, who before the workout was like “this is my 1RM!” and then she finished part 1.
Sara, I don’t think 67 is your 1RM any more.
Sara says
I could not have done this without Stella’s helpful tips, cues and encouragement. I came into this workout doubting whether I should even try Rx. Then I was totally inspired by Theodora, with whom I commiserated about the weight during the warmup, and she was so impressive.
Singles for the snatches. Really needed to focus on setting my back, using my legs and keeping the bar close. (Thanks, Stella). No repped twice. Burpees weren’t too awful. Jumping in is more comfortable for me than stepping.
Good lesson about suppressing self-doubt. Working on staying focused on being proud of what I CAN do and not being disappointed in what I can’t (yet).
Charles Smith says
that’s awesome Sara!
Charles Smith says
10AM with line drills from Lynsey and 19.4 with Brett.
Workout RX’d: 66 reps in 6:22.
First round of snatches 4/3/3.
quick singles the rest of the way.
Kept moving on the burpees.
I did see the top of a pull-up bar for the first time, but only from about 3 inches away. Feeling exactly as Sara wrote- need to focus on what I can do instead of what I can’t- beat my tiebreak goal by 38 secs.
Kate tk says
Charles, you were way closer than you realize. So awesome to see – you’ll have that BMU very soon.
