Join the CRASH-Beasts: Training Starts Today!
The CrossFit South Brooklyn Indoor Rowing Team is mounting its 10th CRASH-Bs campaign! Held in Boston each year, CRASH-Bs is the premier indoor rowing championship. Training starts this Monday, November 12th.
Coach Nick is leading a crew of CRASH-Beasts to the 2019 CRASH-B Sprints on Sunday, February 17th, 2019 at Boston University’s Agganis Arena. Doors open at 7:00am. The CRASH-B Sprints is a one-day event with racing scheduled from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
Coach Nick will guide the team through a 14-week program based on his training regimen when he was competing at the Olympic level. The program includes:
- Three 2-hour technique clinics (which include a workout) plus 4 group races
- 1 T-shirt ($25 value)
- 6 days per week of programming access which includes rowing machine work, GHD, and other assistance work
- Remote coaching through video analysis
- Online support via the Facebook group, video analysis, and general support/feedback

NOTE: Your card will be charged immediately for the first month and then again each month until the program ends (3 total payments). Payments are non-refundable once the charge has been processed; however, you can stop future payments at no penalty as long as you give the front desk 3 days notice.

Jim will be live tattooing at the Art Show from 7-10pm in 20-minute sessions from the flash sheet of small, simple designs pictured on the sign-up sheet (link below).

How to Do the Perfect Double Kettlebell Clean Breaking Muscle

7 AM with SnickTuro. I was already starting this day at a deficit: poor hydration yesterday equals bad sleep last night. Sigh. I count getting in as a victory.
Did 3 sets of the complex (which, like last week, is a serious metcon masquerading as strength work) with 12 kg bells. SO HARD.
WOD in 7:33 with single unders, otherwise Rx. I just did not have double unders today and I wasn’t in the mood to fight with myself until I got them. Note to self: come to AG tomorrow, I’m pretty sure DUs are on tap.

DOG OWNERS! READ THIS!
A large dog of my acquaintance ate rat poison on the sidewalk on my block – Union bet. Smith/Hoyt – while on a regular leashed walk, and died within the hour today.
This dog wasn’t digging around in a hidden place; the poison was somehow easy to get to and gobble up before the owner even had a clue.
Unclear if the poison was maliciously placed, but in any case – be alert.

Complex:
Underachiever today. Only did it twice. 8kg and 12kg. Hardest part was the swings because my forearms are really sore from my Bulletproof back workout on Saturday.
WOD: 10:25 Rx’d
Didn’t allow myself to dread this like I normally would so just took my time and did it. Double unders in sets of 15-30 with short rests in between on the first round. No repped myself on many, but not all wall balls. Had to take longer breaks in between the second set of double unders. These took a while. Sit-ups were pretty fast.
Fox gave good feedback on my double unders. Need to start working on them again after class.
