“Diane”
For Time:
21-15-9
Deadlifts 225/155
Handstand Push Ups
This benchmark (and CFSBK Leaderboard) workout is done unbroken on the fast end, with top times world-wide under 2 minutes. Average times, however, creep up into double digits. We’ll have a soft 15 minute cap today, so feel free to make it more of a strength workout and challenge yourself via load on the bar and/or degree of difficulty on the push. The Handstand Push-Ups start and finish with both arms fully extended and both feet touching the wall. Kipping is allowed. Hands must be within 24 inches of the wall and no wider than 36 inches apart. Scale HSPU volume, ROM, or to Box Piked or regular Push-Ups as needed. If you think you might be pushing for the CFSBK Leaderboard, then be sure to let a coach know so that they can verify your performance.
Post time and Rx to comments.

Diane: 4:51 Rx
About a minute faster than my last time. All of the deadlifts were unbroken. HSPUs were a mix of strict and kipping, 10/6/5, 7/5/3, last set was a mix of singles and struggles.
Cash out was some hollow holds and light banter.
Also both James and Joy missed 6am.

Diane with regular pushups in 5:23. Kinda surprised I didn't go faster given that I didn't even try to do any variety of HSPU.
The deadlifts were fine. The pushups got gnarly fast!

8am 🙂 um… happy(?) Columbus Day… : X
Diane: 10:14 135#, 12-9-9 hspus.
DL: 8-7-6 HSPUs: 6 singles no ab mat, 6 with one abmat
Dl: 8-7 HS: 3 singles no abmat, 3-3 one ab mat
Dl: 9 HS: 3 singles no ab mat, 3-3 one ab mat
Next time I will do 155. Really wanted to focus on the HSPUs. In retrospect, I think I could have finished all the reps with one ab mat after my couple without any mats
I need to beg my Network to start school at 8:15 instead of 7:15… morning workouts are a beautiful thing!

Diane @ 185# – DNF
Got through all the deadlifts without issue. That round of 9 HSPU started just after the soft cap of 15:00 and I called it after only getting 1. Too many failures up to that point. On the bright side, easily the most I've ever done in a workout and with less scaling than ever before. I'll get it next time. Thanks to everyone who hung around to watch me flail around upside down.

Great to see Diane again such a fun workout ?
13:01 Rx – which is still 5:00 quicker than last time.
Yes there were lots of doubles and singles on the HSPUs.
No sign of Joy, she is probably celebrating thanksgiving (Oh Canada)

Diane scaled to boxed hspu's with 2 abmats in 4:41. All the deadlifts at 155# unbroken, scaled hspu 21, 10-5, 5-4
Did some strict presses afterwards, but didn't feel great on my shoulder :/

Diane in 14:20, about two minutes off my PR. Hspu were garbage today and tweaked something in my shoulder. Positive the deadlifts were easy.

Diane: 11:52 with scaled HSPUs down to 12-9-6 and two abmats. First time I have followed through with HSPUs in a workout, so pretty excited about that. Started with a set of 4, but mostly done as doubles and singles. All deadlifts unbroken.
Made up the 20 power clean / 10 DU EMOM workout from last week afterwards. Doubles were pretty terrible today, one time taking 30 sec just to get through the 10 – just had no rhythm. Took 3:40 all together.

Diane in 8:56.
Went at 185 on the deadlifts and hspu's piked on a box.
Very satisfied with that weight- much heavier than I might have tried a few months ago.
I love the attention to planning out your individual workout in Crush week.

Diane: 9:26 with 9/6/3 HSPU
First time doing HSPU in a wod, just a week after doing them for the first time ever. Was unable to string them together today, so this was slow, but I'm happy to have only scaled the volume rather than the movement this time.

First time being able to Rx this! Deadlifts unbroken. HSPUs in 3's, 2's but mostly singles. Need to figure out how to cycle these more efficiently- need to practice putting my hands in the right place so I don't need to adjust them and put all my weight on my head. Thanks coaches for the tips!
Very happy to finally have a benchmark for this benchmark.

My last time attempting this, it didnt even resemble Diane: it was 9-6-3 Hspu to two abmats in 8 mins.

Was thinking tat I'd do this sort of NFT in about 10 minutes and I did, it just happened a little faster than I thought it would. Not near a PR but I'm happy to have gotten through it. Fun times watching El Capitan crush it.

Attempted RX and had to scale back the HSPU's in round of 15. Shoulders were blasted and was taking to long to recover to get back on the wall. Modified to 21-9-6. 13:45

Diane modified in 7:58
DLs @155#: 12-9, 8-7, 9
HSPUs singles to one ab mat: 12-9-6
Took Whit's advice and did singles. Afterwards, she said I could've moved faster in between each rep. That may be the most HSPUs I've done in a WOD. Normally I start off with a set of 3 or 4 and then end up failing and having to drastically reduce reps mid-WOD so looks like singles are the way to go. Failed only one rep of the last set bc I stayed at the bottom too long. Redid it.
The first time I did Diane with strict HSPUs with a 45# plate + one ab mat in 7:05. I consider today an improvement even though I kipped because the range of motion was much greater on the HSPUs.
