HOORAY for extended open gym hours!!!! Really happy to no longer always be the last person slogging away, keeping Margie late while I fail on just one more set of press. Muchos gracias to los managmenterios. And other excellent bastard spanish.

I keep forgetting to post this:
My choir is performing Handel's Messiah at Carnegie Hall on Monday night (12/19) at 8 PM. I have a single ticket in the rear balcony left that I haven't sold. Free to any SBKer who promises to actually attend the concert.
More info about the concert here.
Email me (stellavision at gmail) if you're interested.

Oh yeah, and give Arlene her props! 80 + 49 + 115 = 244, not 144.

Michele — Fleisher's has it (it's in the freezer case), and so does Bklyn Larder. I can't remember how much I paid for it at Fleisher's, but $20 says the Larder is more expensive!
michele says
you're surely right. thanks!

Good workout last night, but boy did it knock me out. I was starving this morning and tired!
Volume Squat: 270x5x5
This went well, the last reps were hardish and I was tired by the 5th set. Heaviest 5×5 so far.
Press: 140x5x3
This went really well. I crushed the 2nd set.
Chins: 6 sets of 3 throughout the day. Chin-up bar at work. Wish I had done this a year ago!
Psyched to see that the Power Lifting meet filled up! I was suppose to go snowboarding, but it's looking like rain– looking forward to cheering you all on.
Two thumbs up for the longer open gym Friday! Definitely have needed the extra 30 minutes many times.
michele says
ditto on the extended hours love.
JR says
Congratulations on all of the totals! And congratulations for those of you that have Friday night swagger!
The only swagger that I have these days is from a foot problem!
DH3 says
JR you have more swagger than that. You have the EAGLES, you know the preseason Super Bowl winners. On 2nd thought…..

Michele- ducks.

LOL @ DH3 I definitely asked for that one! I make no apologies for Vince Young. He tweeted it, he's an idiot. Quite lilterally. When asked about is issues with the Titans, he said, "Well, you know, I'm a working product." I'm pretty sure that he meant "work in progress." which he certainly is. Nice win Sunday night. Way to ice that kicker!

Michele – re: your post a while back about the stew meat. I cooked mine all day in the slow cooker with some veggies and broth and it turned out great. I didn't take the time to slow cook my share from last month and I agree it was tough. Hope this helps.

Made up the total tonight with Kiki. So glad I didn't have to go solo – thanks & great job to Kiki! Special thanks to Fox for the great coaching and sticking around when I should've been done lifting.
I wasn't totally sure what to expect since I was still feeling a little beat up from Saturday's competition.
Back squat: 285-300(pr)-310(f)
Press: 125-135-140(pr)
Deadlift: 305-335-345(f)
Total: 775
Great to hit my year-end goal of a 300# back squat. I think I probably had 310, but didn't approach it with enough confidence. Deadlift wasn't a PR, but after 335 my back wasn't feeling so hot. I tried an uninspired attempt at 345 and stopped. I probably should've just called it a day at 335.
I had 800 in mind as a goal for tonight, but I'm happy with where I ended. Thanks to Fox, Malcolm, and Jeremy for the thoughts on my lifts tonight. Also, thanks to anyone who cheered while Kiki and I were lifting. Looking forward to doing the total with a big crew next time. Congrats to everyone on the awesome numbers on Sunday! It was great to watch some impressive lifts.
michele says
Rickke, congrats. That was a bad ass squat.
As for myself, I will merely say Thank God for the Texas Method.
That is all.
