after last night’s clean fail, i went in this morning to do some on-the-minute work and remember how to actually do that movement.10 min x 1 @ 1237 min x 1 @ 1333 min x 5ish @ 103these were much quicker than last night, but it’s hard to be quick and practice catching deep when the weight isn’t heavy. gotta remember to stay farther over the bar and be patient.

Hmmm… my clean PR was 90#… and I don’t remember writing it on the board. Other Erica?
Great photo – I’m envious!
Laurel says
Gorgeous photo Whit – you look fantastic! I like the enormous smiles on both of your faces in that video. I’ve never gone surfing – how much time did it take before you could stand up and catch a wave?
Jess says
Ok, I’m so freakin’ jealous of Shane and Whitney! That seems like a trip that Mr. Fox and I need to plan asap! Until that happens though, I’m looking forward to going out to Rockaway beach again and taking another lesson this summer.
Fox says
Shane (and Whit) – Great video, welcome back from a well deserved vacation. Glad you two had fun!

Dude, did I write 87 on the whiteboard? If so, that was gym brain. 82, not 87. D’oh.
Awesome surfing pic!

Surf’s up! Love the photos and video!
This is not the Chris A. who cleans 220 and does an 800-meter run and an rx’d Annie in under 10 minutes. Nope, this is the other one.
Cleaned 175#, which is a pr, and that’s good, I suppose. However, my goal was to go more and the limiting factors—as is the case in all the Olympic lifts for me—are mobility, coordination, and courage (or lack there of). So I’ve got some work to do and lots of room to improve.
Did the WOD (800 meter run + Annie) at the B scaling (40-30-20-10). Finished all but the last 10 sit ups in the 10 minutes. Double unders have been sucking lately and figured they’d continue to suck after a half mile run. But since I had no expectations, I didn’t get all messed up in my own head about them and they went aok. Each round was broken by one or two misses. Limiting factor here were sit ups. Big, FAT sit ups! Felt all that beer I love on each and every one. Bluuuubbbb.

Great 6 a.m. class today. Starting to become a habit…
Clean 175×1, 185f, 180×1, 185×1, 190x1previous pr was 195, but that was a million years ago, so pretty happy with this.
Scaled the 800+Annie back to 30-20-10 and finished in exactly 10 minutes.

Pretty happy with the PR at 215. Previous best single was 204 before this cycle and I’d hit 209 twice on the 1st rep of double attempts last week before missing the 2nd rep.
Good times re-fueling (with tacos) while catching up with Shane after classes tonight.

Pretty happy with the results. I PR’d in all three eventsSquats 440Press 175Deadlifts 545*
It was inspiring watching the group push themselves to new heights…and the entire gym was very supportive.
*officially 500. Jeremy disqualified the attempt at 545 due to an unseen hitch in the movement.
