Did yesterday’s WOD in the 7 AM class. Just when I think I’m getting the hang of CrossFit…rope climbing FAIL! Seems like it’s my core strength that’s failing me — I just wasn’t able to bring my knees up high enough to make any progress up the rope.
Movies: going to see Jane Eyre with my niece this weekend. I loved the book and I’ve heard good things about the newest adaptation.

yet another example of why the CSFBK coaching staff is great: shane made sure I got my box squat work in despite complications, and then… fox danced. it was both glorious and terrifying, kind of like watching pol pot ride a unicorn.

Oh, I am SAD I missed the Fox dance. Fun times with rope climbing and other core-challenging movements at the nooner, where I nearly suffocated with the testosterone but made it out alive. I’ve not been getting to the gym consistently in the past 2 weeks and I’m sad about that.

I was totally frustrated with the rope climb yesterday – even though I knew what to do, I couldn’t convince my body to DO it – but I gave it another try after lifting this evening, and OMG, I actually managed to get myself a couple feet off the floor. As a perpetual middle school gym flunker, this is a serious victory!!

Squat: 265x7I had a really squirrelly 3 rep that messed up my mojo. I started to dip forward and from that point on I wasn’t aggressive enough going down and bouncing. I’m disappointed because last cycle I did 270×8. I have another chance at that next week though.
Press: 107.5x9Again, slightly below expectations- I previously did 10 last time. Maybe just a rough week recovery wise. I haven’t been feeling so great as far as muscle and joints are concerned. A massage, chiropractor and 1 rolfing session later, I’m still beat up. Getting old sucks.
Dead lift rack pulls:335x5Felt good. Pulled 285 regular grip. I definitely want to keep moving that up.
