Go Eric Peterson! Age 71, probably rows a faster 2K than I do.
Fun, ENORMOUS noon class with Margie. Loved skin-the-cat practice. Loved/hated snatch balance. I *cannot* get enough down, so I was basically doing power snatch balance. Got up to 95#, called it a day.
Death by pullup: 8 rounds plus 8 pullups.
Fun having the CrossFit Queens visitors!

Snatch balance. Hmmm. Major mobility issues for this one. I think dealing with those will be a big part of January goals. Here’s a January goal: learn to count. In the 9th round of death by pull ups I got up to 10, going for and failing on 11, having forgotten I needed just 9. So I guess that’d be 9 rounds, straight up.Another Jan goal: string together those kipping pull ups better than I do now. Once again, mobility work.

Great to have CF Queens in the house today!! You guys rocked the pullups!
Thanks everyone for making such a big group easy to manage. Y’all are good peeps.

Crazy LARGE nooner with Margie! Fun to see CF Queens really kill it on the pull-up monster.
Sam & I ran out of time with the Snatch Balance, but I PR’d my last one by 15lbs to 68. Felt good, all but for my right wrist, which started to feel like it wanted some tape by the end.
For DbPU, I made it through 5 rounds + 5 on the green band. This is a whole new world for me, getting any pull-ups at all. Still a big huge challenge, but yay for progress!

Thanks for hosting us (CFQ) today at your box!

Wrist was really noticeable today. Snatch balance had to stay light end even still it was probably pushing it on my wrist. Topped out at 85 lbs.
Death by pullups was done with strict chins so I didn’t kip them and muck up my wrist further. Got 8 full rounds.

Thanks to brian for the cueing. All i focused on was the idea of Squatting as quickly as possible. Really helped to simplify the movement.
“Death by Pull-up”16 Rounds + 7 Pull-ups
I felt really Heavy and clunky by round 10. Knew I wouldn’t PR this but still felt good. Couldn’t find the right grip/box etc etc

Death By Pull-up – 18 rounds.
Tore on the round of 18 so I stopped there.

Sooooooooo good to be back at SBK! The last wod I did was DT (14:31 at 93#) on christmas morning with a couple of shoveling sessions sprinkled in since then. I felt like today’s programming was a nice transition back into everything.
Warmup:-droms~10mins of 3 skin the cats, :30 front plank???
Snatch balance:(33×5, 43×2, 53×3, 63×2 73x2ugly)73×1, 78×1, 83×1, 88×1, 93xf-had to stop psyching myself out and stop wasting time with the bar on my back. I know I have 93+ in me next time. Will feel more comfortable when I can tape my wrists.
Death by Pullup:12 rounds + 7.-I was able to get the first 7 rounds all unbroken which is a PR for me. Then as soon as I started breaking the reps up, I got really tired. Wasn’t even going to give the 13 round a shot, but peer pressure pushed me to keep going. Very glad that I didn’t tear although I can definitely finish that round next time.-The big question is…why can I do 7 linked kipping pullups in this wod, when I can only link 2-3 at most during other wods???
David Mak says
Snatch balance topped out at 95# … Really trying to work the mobility.Death by pull-up – 14 rnds plus 12. Felt great until I hit the wall in rnd 12 and the decline was rapid.

First day back in several weeks, after only a few days on post honeymoon. This little body is creaking and easily winded. sigh.
Snatch balance: 33xwarm-ups,45×3,65×3,75×1,85×1,95×1,105×1,115×1,125×1(PR)
Last time I did these I think I topped out around 85lbs and my wrists were killing me. This time everything felt crisp and snappy. 125 was me running out of time, I can go heavier next time.
Death by pull-up: 12 rounds exactly. Last time I did this workout I fell off and hurt my back and hip. Once I got fatigued found it challenging to push myself for fear of getting hurt again. I DID make it through the rep I fell on last time (11th rep of 12 round.) Had to stop after that for fear of grip failure even though I finished with a little time on the clock.
