Good day for FGB V. Very impressive and awe-inspiring to watch everyone give it all they got. Watching Matt go for it in his blinding shorts was a real treat.
The Sixy Beasts kicked royal arse, racking up 1287 points.
Personally, I scored 231, a score I’m happy with as I was hoping for 225 (over last year’s disappointing 199).
Thanks to everyone who egged me on, and to Nick K for judging my rounds.
Sameer Parekh says
225.
awesome funding raising matt!
not so awesome rainbow shorts. ack. i think i might be blind now. =)
Sameer Parekh says
doh. looks like i didn’t beat my time from last year. i had 232 last year. oh well. 225 is still respectable, i am able to maintain, i guess, which is good, given my not working out quite as much.

What a day! I truly love our community. It’s amazing what we were able to accomplish together. Shout out to the ladies that killed it today, you guys inspire me and keep me motivated. I haven’t been working out but I’m still proud of my 223.
Thanks to all the volunteers today and the families that came out to show their support. Mr.Osorio, you are awesome! Watching you work out today gives me no excuses not to get off my arse and do something.Chao

This was felt very different than traditional FGB. While it was taxing, I couldn’t redline like I can using two arms. Didn’t have many expectations going in, I kind of bunked on the rower.
Today was a great day!! FGB is my favorite CrossFit day in the entire year. So amazing to see so many members of our community at the gym together. Lots of positive energy in the gym and at sheeps station afterwards. Thank you, everyone.. for everything
I just finished some additional cleaning at the gym.. time to eat, shower and maybe sleep

Congratulations to all the athletes who competed today! I had a great time hanging out with the other volunteers while also feeling alternately sad and relieved that I was not participating. I love the CFSBK community and feel so lucky to be part of it. Thanks for a great day!

You guys define the word community, you did an amazing thing today and my heart is just swole to bricks.
and to Kate…
When I’m eight months pregnant I won’t so much as lift the Snuggie off my person so GODDAMN girl, you blew me away.
It was a wonderful day, even if I did break both my toes on Dave Byrd.

What an honor to be a part of this community. Everyone did such an awesome job! Great day.

So much fun! Can’t post my score because I forgot to check on it before I left, but I wanted to say thank you to Team Heedless for your enthusiasm about having me as a team mate, massive pregnant belly and all. I am thrilled that I was able to compete. Also a big thank you to everyone who looked out for Gus today while I was otherwise engaged.
AND, what everyone else said about what a cool community this is.
Carlos says
very proud of cross fit kids.
As for myself, nagging sore right calf turned into full blowout during warm up box jumps.
Being a disciple of the church of no quitting, I walked the box jumps and jerked many of the push presses for an ok 232.
Thanks to Margie for encouraging me and being her awesome self.
What a super-cool box you run SBK staff!!

So, you all are amazing. I love the SBK crowd and the support I get from all of you!!!

-Super stoked about this, especially placing top female! Claire was right on my heels and I totally thought that Jenn was going to beat me! Overall, really nice job by all the ladies that competed today!!!-Thank you to my fantastic coach Mr. Fox, who pushed me to keep going and helped me keep my goal. I love all of you and I honestly heard all of you cheering me on. Thank you so much for your support and thank you SBK for such an amazing support system. Everything was so well run and well organized! The day ran so smooth and was so enjoyable.
Also, big shout out to Shane and the Crossfit Kids/Teens who absolutely rocked it! The Guerra boys definitely have something to prove!!! Nice job boys! 🙂

Easily my favorite day at SBK 3 years and running (and that says a lot given how awesome our gym is on a day to day basis)
Thank you to all the athletes, volunteers, friends and family who help make FGB special.
I’m so proud and honored of what we accomplished this year.
Matt, hell of a job brother.
Lady Fox, get it girl!
The Crossfit Kids aka the Guerra Boys crew made my entire day!
Thank you, thank you, thank you

it was so inspiring to be at the box today.

233 Rx’d. I was shocked at the improvement over last year’s 190, especially since wall ball and push press were so tough without a pec.
Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm and encouragement; I feel very lucky to be a part of such a fantastic community.

Had a fantastic time.250, as rx’d. First time doing FGB, so I felt quite good about this score. Learned a lot watching the beasts (Dan, Scott, etc…) do it today, so I’ll have a better idea of strategy for next year.
It was great to meet so many of you today, hopefully I’ll be around more and get a chance to get to know you all. This really is an amazing group of people.
Robin says
Wow. A hot bath, a steak, 4 advil and 12 hours of sleep (starting at 730pm- party!) and I almost feel back to normal.
Great intro to FGB. Could not have asked for a better team! On top of having Captain Shiny Shorts; Dan, Dave and Bethany were so incredibly helpful and encouraging partners for my first time out. Thank you. Also big thanks to my awesome judge John Doyle, who did not falter when I dazedly asked him at the end of nearly every minute “where I go now?”

Intended to go for Rx’d B, but wanted to die when I picked up that 14lb wall ball as the last part of my round and quickly scaled that one back. Had no idea of a goal to shoot for; am pleased with 213.

What a great SBK Day! FGB V, Sheep Station, La Taqueria. All in a days work.
Phew. 265, pretty far off from my best effort. Fat men can’t jump.
