Is anyone interested in participating in a design meeting at Lululemon next Tuesday from 7-8:30pm? The intention of the meeting is to get feedback on what kind of athletic wear CrossFitters are looking for and let you guys know what Lululemon is all about. Ideally, there would be a mixed crowd of CrossFitters who wear the product already and some who don't. Each member who participates will receive a $100 gift certificate to their store. Food will also be provided at the meeting.
Space is limited and it's first come first serve. Please email David(AT)CrossFitSouthBrooklyn.com if you're interested.
Today, April 6th, marks the one-year anniversary of my first Foundations class. We did tabata squats; everyone else did weighted pull-ups.

It’s been a great year. And while it’s easy to get caught up in how much further I have to go in the realm of fitness, I have to note that my resting heart rate and blood pressure are lower, I’ve gained 8-10 pounds while losing fat, I’m stronger and more energetic, I sleep better — and all that only attending class twice a week for the first 8 months or so. With the possible exception of my early Marine Corps career, I’m in the best shape of my life.
To David, the coaches, and the wonderful CFSBK cult — er, *community*: thank you.
Happy CFSBK Birthday, Matt! What’s your B-Day workout going to be?
@Dan – I dunno yet. I need to make up yesterday’s DL’s first. Maybe I’ll do Annie — it’s been a couple weeks since I put my DU’s to the test.
Also, I don’t want to tell anyone else how to raise their kid, but I really don’t approve of McGrath taking Finn to a strip club.

@Matt — I don’t know, both Finn and David look pretty happy. Who, crazy idea, CrossFit Pole Dancing with CrossFit Kids; love it!
Wish they had it when I was a kid…
@Matt cheers I missed that first foundations class last April because of work, but it has been such an awesome year.
The most memorable workout for me during foundations was that running around the Lyceum and doing burpees.
I think most the folks that were in our foundations class are still around.
I wanted to make it back into the gym today now that im back from Cali but I think I may have to take kamau to the strip club…errr the Doctor.
Field trip!

shawn, matt and other April foundation folks,I’m realizing I started crossfitting last april too. Anyone interested in the filthy fifty as a birthday WOD one of these days? I’d be up for something else also, but think it would be fun to do something unpleasantly pleasant together to celebrate.
DL 135×3 165×3 185×3 205x3x5
Did 40 (feet elevated) pushups, ‘coz can’t hang by elbow now, so no ring rows or.
Cool down with 1Km row in 4:03. Need to break 4 soon.
Enviable form Ash. Nice.

warm-up: 95×6, 135×5, 185×3, 205x3Work: 225x3x5Accessory work: ring rows (4×10) and flexed arm hang.
JMD: I’d be down for a filthy 50. I’ve only seen it on the website once in the last year, and I think it was while I was still in Foundations. I think we’re due.
I’m not an April 2009 Foundations Alumnus, but I’d still like to join youse all in the Filthy Fifty when you do it. I’ve never done it and would like to try it out.
WOD 3 was harsh on the lungs and on the feet. Good to have it done and out of the way.
Need more burners like that one — good stuff!
Today in my second to last private foundations class I did the workout known as “Helen” in 19:07. Even though I think Christian did more work than I did on the pull ups, it sure was hard. In a good way, of course, and I can’t wait to do it again!
