They started spraying the ceilings and I've deemed it unfit to CrossFit in the space. We're going to switch up plans for an outdoor WOD. You'll still be able to drop your stuff off upstairs and use the bathrooms but we will NOT be in the main floor today. According to the workers, they'll be done and out of the space this evening. The current plan is to do the Push Jerk and Pace row tomorrow instead.
Team Workout
Run 800m
200 Kettlebell Swings
100 Burpees
Run 800m
You and your partner complete the Run and then partition the KB/Burpee work however you'd like. Once all the reps have been completed you both run the second 800m.

A few folks emailed me saying they couldn't make the weekend tryouts for the affiliate team. We will hold additional tryouts the week after. Stay tuned for some dates and times.
How will you enjoy the nice weather this week?
David Osorio says
I meditated in Prospect Park yesterday. It was wonderful. I plan on going back this Friday

bringing lucy and finn to their first st paddy’s day parade. lots of bike practice for lucy plus lots of playground time.
Malcolm says
Did some photography in Prospect Park last night in the wonderful post work sunshine!
stephaniep says
acupuncture! this actually has nothing to do with the weather but i’m going today and i’m PSYCHED!
then it will be a run in the park and some serious stretching.
Snip says
I think I may head to the park at some point, kick off my shoes, and try some barefoot running in the grass. After, a pedicure.
ShawnS says
Im with DMG–lots of playground and outside time….
ShawnS says
non-weather related confession.
So I fully planned a day of Intermittent Fasting today (partially cause there were no leftovers to bring cause I ate them all last night).
I get here in the morning, and one of my students hands me a box of Girl Scout Samoa cookies I had ordered two months ago.
I have now eaten half the box….
There’s a huge sugar rush to my brain right about now.
umm at least they have coconut?
Samir Chopra says
@StephP: I don’t know if you already have a regular needle-artist lined up, but I can recommend one (for the future) who specializes in trigger-point needling (excellent for myofascial release).
Asta says
I think the secret ingredient in girl scout cookies is crack – because seriously, who eats just one?
I walked from Trader Joes in Brooklyn heights –> home last night instead of taking trains. Weather is awesome. 🙂
Jess says
I will try to do more drinking outdoors…or at least at places with open windows (or pictures of open windows). Hey, this apartment hunting stuff has been stressful and exhausting.
Oh, and I will also take Tucker on longer walks, some runs and hopefully to the park to just chill.
Jess says
I was a girl scout! And I love, love, love the Tagalongs! I used to easily eat a box all by myself. Now, I can’t find anybody selling them. I guess that’s good and bad.
ShawnS says
Ohhh yeaaaa looks liek my kind of WOD…I think…
tam says
Jess, I can totally see you in a beanie.
Joe says
I’m now going to be out of town for the affiliate tryouts. Glad to hear there are extra days being added.
Sameer Parekh says
I think i’m going to climb the williamsburg bridge tonight

Fun little outdoor WOD today (it was a little dark when we got done tho’). Partnered with StephDub and David Mak – awesome partners! I subbed bench jumps for the KB swings. We finished in 20:50 (I think).
Only downer: I banged my elbow on a dumpster as we ran to Union – serves me right for being blind as a bat in the dark (wait, that doesn’t sound right, but you catch my drift).
ShawnS says
Fun, Fun, Fun
25:40 with Ruvin.
We ran the 1st 800 and a moderate pace, got to our stations together, knocked out all 200 kb swings then did the 100 burpees.
We tried to split the work evenly but if 1 of us were tired we’d do what we could and the next guy would jump in.
The last 800 sucked.
Overall I still like Metcons like this.
I wouldnt mind a whole week of various metcons like this–especially when its nice outside (before it gets too hot).
Afterwards hung out with Ryan and JMD on the benches.
ShawnS says
Oh we did the 1.5 pood.
JMD says
lovely sunshine.me and julianna banged this one out together in 20 some odd minutes. we split the work down the middle. We only one pair of sneakers between the two of us and julianna was nice enough to let me wear them for both runs. thanks.it felt good bullshitting on the bench afterward.and oh yes, we entertained our fellow parkers (and prof. fox and david) with some piroutes, knee slappers and twinkle toes during our warm up.
David Mak says
Great WOD and wonderful being partnered with Samir and Steph, they kicked ass.20:50 with me on the 2 pood, Steph on the 1 pood and Samir doing box(bench) jumps. We split everything even, each doing 10 rounds of 10 swings(jumps) and 5 burpees.
What a beautiful day!
Laurel says
Jess and I did this one together in 22:58? 1.5 pood kb. We broke it up into sets of 10 swings and 5 burpees, 10 rounds each. Everything was unbroken and Jess kept me moving steadily through. It was my running that slowed us down, running kills me! In the last 800m Jess paced me, talked me through and pushed me to go for it at the end. Thanks Jess! I really wouldn’t have pushed that hard on my own.
Great being outside today.
Oh, and great work foundations. You guys pushed yourselves tonight.
Jess says
Great partnering with Laurel! We actually ended up at 22:52. I also did swings at 1.5 pood. My burbees were about 95% modified with only a few not from the knees. Boo. I think Laurel and I did a pretty good job pacing and it was fun to push her on the run. I knew that she could do it, and it was fun to stay just a few steps ahead to push the pace. Awesome job pushing past the misery Laurel!
Overall a pretty fantastic day, especially being outdoors.
Andy H. says
What a great St. Patrick’s WOD. Didn’t expect to finish it but the energy of team “3 Gringos” (Matt, Tal, and tipsy me) pushed me through the discomfort. Don’t remember our time but we were fast and good-looking.
Snip says
20:50 w/ D Mak and Samir. It was actually quite fun. 1 pood kbell swings were good, 90% of burpees modified was not, bc my knees were banged up. Thanks Fox for coaching, and Becca, Laurel and David for hanging out and giving support.
Becca says
23:20 or 23:50 (?) with Ms. Sarah Haskins. We used the 1 pood kettlebell and did 10 swings each partner then 5 burpees each partner for 10 rounds. We were able to keep a constant, steady pace. Despite Sarah’s great pacing and encouragement, I just couldn’t catch my breath on the second 800 and didn’t push through as hard as I would’ve liked to. Otherwise, all in all, it wasn’t too bad.
