Congratulations to John "The Hammer" Mc-D for taking first place in the Coxwain Division at CRASH-B's this weekend
The hammer John was awarded represents being a strong rower with a tough-as-nails mentality.
Check out the rest of the amazing CRASH B Photo set Dan R took!
Tonight's Workouts
5pm Dips/Rope Climb
6pm Dips/Rope Climb
7pm Snatch/Annie
Our next Mobility and Recovery Intensive is just around the corner!
For many athletes, mobility and soft tissue restrictions are one of the biggest barriers to performance and reasons for injury. While you won't put a clock to it, everyone should be attacking their body work with the same intensity they attack WODs with. Our MRI is designed to give you guys the tools to do personalized movement prep work before and after workouts. Plus, you leave with your own Foam Roller and Soft Tissue Ball!

"The diagnostics were great. They put me in touch with mobility issues I never really knew I had. Learning the ways to cope with those issues was huge…I'd take it again." – Chris A

Congrats to John, Coach Nick, and all the entire Crash B Team!

1. If you’re coming to 5 or 6 pm classes, please wear pants and high socks (if you got em) for rope climbs. Learning to climb can sometimes lead to rope burn on the ankle. Until you’re proficient on the rope, please protect your skin.
2. Dan has really outdone himself with this last photo set. Awesome shots
3. If you have a CFJ subscription, I advise you to watch all of “Mary’s Story” It’s quite good

A few folks were asking about lactic acid and if it produced muscle soreness and the pain they were feeilg while foam rolling yesterday. My answer was “no”, with a not-as-detailed reply as this, so read on…http://www.eatmoveimprove.com/2009/11/the-truth-about-lactic-acid/
Mary made me cry a happy tear. I so wish that her story were more common.

Thanks David — I’d just like to clarify that the Flickr pool of photos from the CRASH B’s has shots from both Asta and me. With most of the great shots being from her.
I’ll see about making some changes in the credits so this is clearer.

ive been off the computer for a few days so sorry for the late thanks. Thanks for all the congrats, thanks to nick and thanks to the whole rowing crew who got up early early to scream at me on sunday.
congratulations to all for a day of beastly rowing and lots PR’s.
correction: i would have have been extatic with a 7:07 but had to settle for a 7:20, 2 seconds slower than my previous 2k.

Nice photo set from the CRASH-Bs. Good work Dan and Asta! Congrats to all who competed.
Today’s 5PM landed up being a special 2-on-1 treat. Shane and Jeremy coached me on power snatches – man, I think my head is bursting from all the info I got. Did sets across of 70, trying to get this movement right. Still probably going up a little too early but I’m hoping with practice I’ll get it right.
Then, Annie in 12:54.
NYWINEGUY says
Snatches were frustrating today.Did #95 sets across.Felt really strong on the movement last week, but when the weight went up it all went to hell in a handcart.
Annie: 7:08 – PR by 1:16!This made up for it.
Trina would like to sincerely apologize to David and Deb for trying to rip their faces off. We had a long talk and she admitted that the new space, smells and all the noise from Dan bailing made her really nervous. She would be open to coming again if she is invited back.
Dan L says
Good to see everyone again – it’s been awhile, but I should be back in 2 weeks.
45 x 575 x 595 x 3
115 x 3125 x 3115 x 3 x 3
125 was getting kind of ugly so dropped it back down.
Thanks Shane and Jeremy for the tips
Annie – 6:00 PR by 43 seconds (thought it was a bigger PR but I forgot about my time from last October)

(22xa bunch)52-72-77-82 all x3realized i only did 4 sets (whoops), but 82 is a PR. still need to work on getting down, fast. happy to see we’ll be doing more snatching next cycle!
