The CRASH B's are fast approaching. Remember that Coach Nick has provided supplemental Erg workouts to help build capacity on the rower. Check them out here.
Our last day at the Brooklyn Lyceum is Sunday, January 10th. Our Degraw Street location is near completion and awaiting its final inspection. If all goes well, we are expected to be in our new home mid January. A worst case scenario would put us reopening on February 1st after a 20 day black out period. Should that occur, we'll freeze everyone's accounts and provide at home workouts and some opportunities for everyone to get together and train. Thank you so much to all our members for their patience during this transition. We're all very excited to offer a significant upgrade in our program once we get into our new space.
Our last day is Sunday the 10th. Would anyone be available to help move equipment over that afternoon/evening???
David Mak says
I would love to help and would definitely be there except I’ll be in St. Croix relaxing (I mean doing at least a WOD every day). This is rather a momentous occasion – will there be a commemoration of some sort?
Tam says
yes.

Couldn’t sleep, decided to try strict bodyweight Lynne tonight.Pushups were chest to the floor with a nice thump (bet my neighbors loved that at 3am)All pullups were from a dead hang.Exactly 3 minutes between rounds, no resting for the transition from pushups to pullups.
r1: 40 pushup, 10 pullupr2: 25 pushup, 9 pullupsr3: 20 pushups, 6 pullupsr4: 21 pushups, 6 pullupsr5: 20 pushups, 7 pullups
That was fun; now my arms are shot.
Good luck to everyone on this workout later today.
Sleepy time for me…

Good working with Vincent today. We flew through the first three sets, then remembered we could rest in between and I was able to get the pushup numbers back up. Banged my chin on the bar in the fourth set of pullups, causing me to drop off.
Would be happy to help move equipment or set up the new space.
Tam says
My first Lynne, too.

there was much rejoicing!
will call when i get back on the 10th, if you are still moving i will help out.
advice to people: do not put your email address on a web page. you will get spammed even more than you already are getting now.
paul says
btw I am down for helping that sunday but I have to show up at work (boo) for at least part of the day, so I’ll have to figure out what my schedule is like.

Great working with Deb today. We totally went after it.

This was a very frustrating workout. I knew the pushups were going to be hard for me but I expected much better numbers for my pullups especially since I was using the white band. I kept losing my grip and felt like I was going to fall off. I’m sure the cold ass bar didn’t help much either.

pull ups felt good, prob could have held on and regained my composure for a few more each round but was happy overall.
i hate push ups though, they were rough.
fun working with jenna, awesome work!

Have been pretty ill the last four days (pitfalls of an 18 month old who had a face full of goo).
Still sick but couldn’t resist a mini Lynne. Did just three rounds. And didn’t go quite all out.
31 / 21.21 / 21.21 / 12.
Did it on a hyper mobile skinny bar in a park.
Still definately sick. We are going to be back for the 10th!
We miss everyone a bunch.

i’m tired.
Mod. push/Blue band pull18/1220/1020/1020/1224/10
Bar temperature definitely affected my pull-ups. Tried to struggle through but around 10 my hands were crying.
I can help move stuff (i.e. supervise the movement from my perch inside a nice heated vehicle!). 😉
Deb says
Big fun with Margie today. Thanks for the assist.

Guess I wasn’t listening about using a band to get more volume. Did the pull ups strict and no band. (Just a little “touch” from Margie)

Warm-UpRow 500mGroup class warm-up, good stuff.
Was partnered with “Bjornimal” for Lynne, fun times!Did my push-ups on a three second count paced by Bjorn. It thought it would be a little harder than being able to set my own pace. In the end, im not sure it was, it actually might have helped. No doubt you’ll all be seeing something similar soon.
Push-ups/Pull-upsR1: 53/15 strict then 11 kipping (26)R2: 25/26R3: 17/10R4: 23/23R5: 22/20
total: 140+105=245
Looking at folk’s numbers, it seems paul and I did roughly the same volume on this WOD.
Thanks for all the offering to help, because the Cafe will be open, the lyceum asked us to do this after 3pm. More details to come.

Hands only really felt cold after coming off the bar, but maybe if I had gotten more volume that’d be a different story…Need to work my kipping rythm more.
Great job by everyone today!

Sorry to miss this one…ok, that’s a lie. My crackly shoulder wanted a break. Instead ran 5 miles outside. I haven’t done a quality run in a while and wanted to make sure I still had the stamina. Finished in 48:10 and without feeling in my toes, fingers, or face. It was a cold one!
After 3pm, no problem. Thankfully that’s the last curveball the Lyceum can throw at us! So excited for the new space:-D
Scott says
I’m willing to help with the move as well.

The great goo of Christmas present got me – my 18 month year old nephew arrived with his first cold and generously bestowed it apon every adult.
We were stir crazy, so compromised and did a mini calisthenic Lynne – 3 rounds.
Warm-up: 400 meter run.I timed all of my rest periods just to see what they were – oh and I rested between my push-ups and pull-ups. My pull-ups were strict.1. 25,2min,10,3min2. 20,3min,10,4min3. 20,4min,9… Nap.
Charlotte says
Great working with Katie as always. Was a little bummed by my pushup volume–thought I had more in me. Pullups were with white band except round 1:
R1: 21 push, 3 pullR2: 16 push, 14 pullR3: 18 push, 13 pullR4: 18 push, 16 pullR5: 15 push, 10 pull
88 + 56 = 144 total.
Malcolm & Laurel, I’m impressed that your nephew survived 18 months without getting a cold.
