Ended up doing 5×5. 45,65,75,85,95(3) Done as singles but close together.
I think I am going to really like snatching once I get it.

Snatch practice.. 5 @15lbs, 2×5 @25lbs. I like the unfurling movement, or maybe it is just the word ‘unfurling’ that is appealing. Anyway it was fun. Shoulder was ok, but it still feels off somehow, even though it doesn’t hurt. Looking forward to sorting that out… I’m jealous of everyone who gets to hop up on the rings!
Malcolm and I ate every scrap of food on our plates and when the waitress returned, we ordered another entree to split… still feeling peckish. I’m finding it hard to get enough calories in my normal patterns.

P.s. Erik – I’m looking forward to the day when I can say that about ring dips. Impressive!
Not all quite in that order, I had a couple more misses at 155 and then took it down to 135 and worked my way back up to a successful 150. I find it helpful to pull some “heavy” weights then scale down and work back up with more confidence.It also helped that Level 1ers were trickling in towards the 150.
Had a failure on #4, so did an extra one to get all 5.
Notes:Doing better about hip opening all the way before the shrug.Inconsistent with how aggressive I am with the shrug.Arm aren’t pushing upwards as much as they should.Need to stomp more, really pull myself under the bar.Hook grip sticks around after the bar is overhead.
Hang vs. Full SnatchesEverything today was done at the hang position. Need to practice full snatches as it feels as though there’s more acceleration in that process, and hence, more power, and more weight can be moved.
Am looking forward to doing more snatches in the near future.

Ugh! Just shitty form all around. Spent the whole class just working on form with a 45 bar. Tight in the shoulders/lats/hams. Having a hard time getting under the bar but primarily can’t squat and get proper arm extension/position. The fight continues!

worked on technique. with some weight on the bar. had to leave early, wanted to do more.

on the 85’s it was difficult to get balanced at the end of the squat. will continue to work on it.
