i am very sore from this.
Malcolm says
I was starting to not be afraid of coming to the gym, so I should have seen this coming.
Here is a link to some photos I took of the rock climbing trip. I salvaged a lot which were nearly destroyed by a poorly set white-balance by turning them black and white. So it is not just that everyone looks better in black and white.

Yeah baby, after seeing the “Just Very Dirty” Fifty going on yesterday was getting excited at the thought of a Filthy Fifty! Woot — can’t wait!
Last time I did this solo, and that was a terrible experience. Looking forward to suffering with the rest of y’all.
Dan R says
Mal — nice shots! If you have a moment, can you sent me one to two of the images in question? Let me see if I can work some PS magic on them.
Erik K. says
Aww shucks, looking at my post from the last time we did the filthy 50, I see that was the first time I strung together double-unders. Nice!
Lil Beefcake says
what about the 50 back extensions?
Margie says
We’ll probably sub good mornings for back extensions since we don’t have enough GHD machines…
paul says
I am so unreasonably excited for this WOD. see y’all @ 7.
stephanie says
I might be doing some form of the burpee 50. First, I have a lot of burpees to do. And second, I managed to hurt my foot playing broomball last night (got nailed with another players stick). Not quite sure what’s exactly wrong, but box jumps and DUs and maybe walking lunges don’t sound like the best idea. In reality, burpees probably aren’t either, but I’m 3 days away and not quitting.
Brian says
I am so bummed that I will miss this.Need to pay more attention to food safety in the future.Have fun gang!
David says
Hey everyone,
I have to pick up 15 Medballs from CFNYC in Manhattan on Friday night at 9:30pm. Does anyone with a car think they can help me out with this? I will buy you a beer and shower you with praise!
David McG says
david, i have a car and will help you out.
David says
Thanks, David. Jeremy also emailed me offering to help. Let me look over some stuff and get back to you guys asap.
Warm-Up:DROMS, 5 reps of each movement
Filthy Fifty, 22:06 as RX’d (PR)As Rx’d in this case means 45lb Good Mornings instead of Extensions on the GHD. I wanted to keep it consistent with my last effort.BJ: UnbrokenJPul: Scattered, harder than expectedKB: UnbrokenWLg: UnbrokenK2E: Scattered, Very HardPP: 25/25GM: 35/15WB: 5x10Brp: Slow and consistent, hard but not terribleDouble Unders: CRAMP! 5’s and 10’s
Push press, Wall Ball, Double Unders and KB felt easier than the last time I did this.
Lil beefcake says
25:54 rx’d. how does the saying go, ‘Crossfit has a way of revealing your weaknesses’? amen.
Laurel says
1st experience with this charming WOD.
time: 38 minutes flat. Couldn’t have done it without David McG – THANK YOU!
subbed on the following:WB: 10lbs, 8ft target.Brp: walk-outs with knee pushups.DU: not consistent enough yet – subbed 3×1.
Came out of it thinking all of you are amazing – this is a great community.
Laurel says
Maybe I should add that I used 22lbs for the press and the 12kg kettlebell.
And, this is quite funny: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/09/fashion/09fitness.html?hp

an amazing WOD. incredible to do it and to see everyone get through it. Really, really cool.

Malcolm says
Wow. 37:18 (though the clock stopped so that is a guess).
Push press and wallball showed me how weak my pushing strength is, need to work on it.
Did wallball with an 8 foot target and did 3x singles for double unders.
Everyone helping me through the end was amazing. I literally could not have done it without the help.
Margie says
Damn. I think my last post didn’t take.
Ok, so awesome work tonight. Malcolm you really sucked it up and pushed yourself. And John C waltzes in after having a baby and bangs it out like nothing.
Erik- I love burpeeing with you.
35:55 rx’d PR(45# for p press; good mornings; 14# WB; 12kg swings; static lunges)
K2E’s are the time suck; burpees are painful and DUs are the mindfuck. Otherwise, it’s cake : )
Erik K. says
For the sake of having something to reference next time we do this workout… 35:18.
I was looking forward to it before we started. By the time I got to wall-ball, I was totally over it. Those brought out the bad me. I never really had the eye of the tiger, even from the start, but by that point I was just an ass. I think I was just frustrated seeing the amazing effort everyone was putting into this and realizing I wasn’t coming at it with the same intensity.
I don’t think I’ll ever finish this workout without Margie forcing me to do burpees.
That said, I do like the post wod high one gets from these types of workouts.
Rob says
No filthy fifty for me (not even a mildly dirty one) I did run 4.5 miles in the park. prior to my shoulder surgery that would have constituted a warm up. But today it was comfortably tough.
Kudos to everyone in the level 1 class. I hate to sound like some long haired, hippie, liberal “I’m ok, you’re ok” freak but there was a great energy in the class.Everyone put forward a great effort.
Felix says
38 minutes. I had to do it by myself at NYSC which sucked. Everything as RX’ed except for:
WBs – 14 pound ball – white wall target35lb dumbbell instead of 1pood kettle ball40lb push press

Great job to everyone and thank you for the encouragement!
I was out of it after the WOD, but now I see Rob talking about positive energy and feel even more delirious! Next comes the Subaru.
stephanie says
“Note: doing the burpee challenge is yielding negative results.”
Dan, I couldn’t agree with you more. I’m dying over here and my performance in other areas is suffering.
THANK THE BURPEE GODS THIS IS OVER FRIDAY!!

26:49, this was really hard but fun, thanks
just for comparison, last time I did this on july 20th, it took me 41:38!

after 3 weeks of being a lot too busy and a little too lazy I finally got back on the crossfit horse–and what a day for it!
after 50 box jumps and 50 jumping pull ups i felt like i was going to die. so i started crying and david said i could scale back to 30’s or 40’s. i finished doing 30 reps each– 26 min 15 sec. and from there it was tough, but less murderous. the burpees still kicked my butt, though. i don’t know why they are so hard, but they are SO HARD! and i liked the good mornings. they felt more like stretching than like part of a WOD.
David M says
I haven’t done a work out that kicked my ass like this in a long time! Great intro for my second class out of foundations.

My apologies for not remembering everyones names yet (and frankly, by the time I was doing Brp’s I don’t think I could see straight) but for those two that helped motivate me and got me through at the end there, I don’t think I could have done it without you. And to everyone else, thanks for the incredible energy!
