Barbell Bear:75-80-85-95-105
Last 2 were PRs. I like NFT WODs, where I don’t feel like I’m going to have a heart attack.
Burpee Challenge day 42.

The Bear: 85, 95, 105, 115, 125
Completed all 5 rounds of 7 reps in their entirety, although the last rep was challenging.
Reviewed the video, looks like I may have shortchanged this workout in my attempt to keep it as dynamic as possible…
Did full clean, into thruster, then back squat, into thruster.
Instead of full clean, stand, front squat into thruster, then back squat, into thruster.
Oh well… next time I’ll know better.
After “The Bear” went and did 20 unbroken C2B pullups. Will shoot for 30 unbroken next time.

I love this workout whenever I am not in the middle of it. It was kind of fun for me to do Bear again after having done it in November– kinda nice to see my progress. 40/45/50/52/54. It was also nice that this time i wasn’t screaming in pain in the shower from whacking my upper spine– so i’m getting the upper back catch a little better.
i followed bear up with cat (as in nap) and now will follow that up with cow (as in beef)– it’s an animal themed day!

Dumbell Bear – 10 sets@20, 7 sets@10Fell behind quickly. But kept going.
Thanks to Shane for helping me stretch out afterwards. I was rolling up into a ball…
Shane says
Really glad that I got to spend Sunday with you all.
For those that asked (and even those that didn’t) the book on stretching I referenced at 10am class is “Wharton’s Stretch Book” by Jim & Phil Wharton. Very in comprehensive book on the Active Isolated Stretching model.
It was an honor and a pleasure to meet Dutch and have EC in back in town. If you are interested in growing as an athlete and as a coach and really understanding why we do what we do and how to do it better check out Dutch’s seminar. Really phenomenal stuff.
See you all Thursday.
