Did “The Bear” complex at Tony Budding’s personal gym. Got up to 120 and failed on the last damn set. I push pressed too far forward and dropped the weight.
It’s been a very long day. Today we went to Kalipas box (CF Santa Clara), CrossFit Santa Cruz and Tony’s house. I also ate a sizeable portion of ribs and will soon be playing some more Rock Band.
I miss everyone. Seeing all these boxes makes me realize how special our program is. Keep me updated on your progress, everyone! I check the blog all the time on my iphone for comments!

As David said, it was a long day.
skipped on presses last night. my shoulder is not happy (the dl/push up metcon proooobably not the best idea on sunday – but it was so fun!)
going to take a mini break but stick with the front squats. see everyone thursday!
I got spoiled by having Shane all to myself this fine inaugural Tuesday morning (thanks, Shane). Hadn’t done much pressing before– except the Crossfit Totals 1RM with Gillian, so I appreciated the chance to work on the technique. 32/37/45/45/48 My 3rd set was a mess, so we did a do-over. After the last set we dropped back to 42 and worked to clean it up a little more.The WOD was brutal for me… between the pullup bar being painfully cold and the wallballs with numb hands I got 4 rounds and 6 WB shy of a 5th. Not great, but I’ll take it. Tan band all the way, which made me feel better.
next week and the one after I am back on the road… keeping my xfit and paleo going will be quite the challenge.

Did 6 rounds of the WOD but had to scale the pull ups down to 6 reps. Nevertheless I follow the mainstream and say it was fun! More of met cons like that, s’il vous plait.

Shoulder PressHad initially struggled to find the right weight for the 5×5 presses.
Checked out a site with the 1rep max charts (http://www.timinvermont.com/fitness/orm.htm)
I admit I was skeptical when I entered my PR of 140 and 120 was the recommended weight for 5×5. They must know something, as it ended up being the right weight.
Results: 115×5, 120×5, 120×4,120×5,120×4
felt like a challenging weight. Here’s hoping I break body weight for the press at some point this year!
The mini-WOD was sweet! Started on ring-dips, managed 9 rounds + 6, 8, 8. Two more wallballs… Grr… Wallball. Completely my weakness, glad they came up because I need lot of practice!

David, Margie, sounds like a lot of work along with it being a long day. Glad that you’re finding some time to enjoy yourselves too. Have a good rest of your trip, and looking forward to having you guys back home!
