i get through all those terrible metcons and now i have to miss snatching. bummer.
i’ll be doing yoga and 26 burpees; see you all saturday.
Margiesays
Worked on technique rather than going heavy5x3, hang power snatch at 42#a few from the floor. working on not hitching, locking out my arms and getting my head through.
BSQ 85%x3x5 (131#)1st set fine, but damn that was heavy!2nd set stopped after 2nd rep3rd set dropped to 126, did 3 reps and lost my gas.
Special guest appearance by Yoon!!! Awesome to have you out! Completely made my day. Thanks again for the coaching.
I was seeming some pretty good pulls today. Especially considering you guys are not dedicated O lifters. Everyone, including myself has a long way to go with these lifts but i have seen tremendous progress in the last few weeks. Drilling the PVC work in warm-ups and working the progressions has really paid off. The snatch is an incredible movement and you all will continue to see a lot more of it as well as the C+J.
GREAT to see Yoon today! I’m hoping we don’t have to wait another 5 months to see him at SBK.
6am’s Group class did an awesome Job Deadlifting. Rob M. pulled an impressive 335 his first time going heavy with the movement. Sick.
6am Group, privates, Level 1, Level 2, Foundations… I love it all!
Julianasays
Good day today! I loved working on the snatch (42 lbs). David I think I shouldn’t have finished that sandwich (it’s yummy).
Didn’t get to the bsq had to run. I am a little disappointed.
Awesome job margie!! Kicking some butt !
Can’t wait it’ll the wine tasting.
See you guys on saturday.

Quick question to the fish oil fans: what brands do you recommend? I wanna jump on the bandwagon but I’ve heard from friends that some are stinkier than others. Is there a consensus to be had on this?
Sad I can’t join at Saturday night’s wine tasting, have a grand time everyone!

Hill,
Carlson’s and Nordic Naturals are the best. Carlson’s is a bit cheaper. Get it in liquid form, keep it in the fridge once you’ve opened it and always take it with food – you need fat in order to properly incorporate the fats/vitamins in the oil.
They both come in lemon or orange flavor so they don’t taste bad. You’ll find them at Lifethyme market, Westerly and other speciality health food stores. Or the co-op.

Thanks for the speedy info, Margie! I’ll keep my eye out for those brands next time I’m at the co-op.
The fish oil at the Coop is in the supplement aisle on the right side (facing the street) on the bottom shelf.
I prefer lemon, Carlson’s doesn’t give me the fish oil burps whereas some others do. 100% go with the liquid kind, you can’t tell if it’s rancid when they’re in pill form.
Deadlifting yesterday was fun but HARD!!!I’ve never done it before and always thought of myself as fairly strong. 7 sets of 1 max rep with increasing weight took me to my limit. I eventually peaked at 275lbs. With a small bump of 10 lbs, it was impossible to budge. Even when cut back to 280 it moved but would not clear my shins. 300 will go up at some point!! Watch your butt Rob M.All in all, not bad for a guy that weighs 155lbs.

Did some snatch work on my own today, kept it light and worked from the hang position. Defintely getting more comfortable with the movement.

Might not get to all the sets on the BSQ as it will require significant rest periods and the Snatch work will also eat up plenty of time as well.
