Workout of the Day

STRENGTH

E2MOM x5 Sets
1-1-1-1-1

Notes
After some progressive warm-up sets, perform 1 clean every other minute on the minute for 5 work sets. These may be power or squat cleans depending on preference and soreness.

METCON

AMRAP 12:00
Run 270m
6 Hang Power Cleans
6 Front Squats

Notes
For the metcon, use a weight light enough that you can perform the hang power cleans and front squats unbroken. This may be somewhere around 50-60% of what you worked up to on the strength portion.

Liz wants you all to get more cultured! (David’s take)

Hi CFSBK, Liz from the Front Desk here! When I’m not at the gym petting all of your dogs, I’m busy running a small art gallery called David Krut Projects, New York, which is primarily focused on South African artists and fine art prints. We’re exhibiting a new series of photogravure and direct gravure etchings by William Kentridge from October 25 – December 16, 2022 with two receptions next week – stop by if you’re free! Details below:
Weekend Reception: Saturday, October 29, 10am-12pm // Coffee + Informal Talk with Master Printer Jillian Ross
David Krut Projects, New York, 526 West 26th Street, 8th Floor, Suite 816, New York, NY, 10001

William Kentridge is a multidisciplinary artist – a printmaker, painter, sculptor, director, draughtsman, animator and filmmaker. While he does not define himself as a “political artist”, he is widely regarded as the go-to contemporary South African artist whose work cannot be detached from his country’s history and fraught present. One of the key characteristics of Kentridge’s practice is the interrelatedness of his various forms of work, working on a multitude of projects simultaneously so the works in one medium inform works in another, creating narrative strands from project to project. As the winner of countless awards and honorary titles, Kentridge is considered one of the most important artists working today.
