A Note from CFSBK
I wanted to reach out to thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting CFSBK during our extended closure. Like the rest of NYC gyms, we don’t know how much longer our closure will be and are still currently in a holding pattern as the city has not given any updates on a timeline or metrics for reopening gyms. With the funds that have been coming in, we’ve been able to stay on top of our limited payroll, keep ALL the coaches health insurances active, even ones who are technically unemployed, pay our rents which are still at 100% and purchase all the things we need to reopen safely (so much cleaning product and more equipment so people dont need to share). On top of that we’ve been super busy at the gym fixing equipment, cleaning, reorganizing and doing what we can to open an even BETTER facility than we closed.
I can’t begin to express the amount of gratitude I have for the community members who have held on this long and allowed us to stay above water during the time we’ve been closed. While not everyone is participating, we’re so happy to have seen such a consistent and high turnout for our online classes while we’ve been closed. Talking to many other gyms most of their online classes flatlined shortly after closure but ours have luckily have remained well attended. I credit our incredible coaches for all the professionalism and love they put into working with all you folx for that success. We’re also looking into running classes down the block at Thomas Greene Park. I was hoping that shortly after phase 4 went into effect in NYC we would have gotten some updated timelines so we knew how to proceed but without any information coming from the state we may have to pivot again. There are some logistical issues to figure out like how to make it work and with over 250 units of equipment loaned out right now but we’re working on giving you all some more training options while our indoor locations remain closed.
It’s certainly been a trying time and we’re not out of the woods yet, but the support we’ve received has been nothing short of incredible and I will forever be so grateful for the generosity our community has extended to keep CFSBK alive. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
This coming Thursday the 6th we’ll be hosting a live Town Hall on Zoom at 7:30pm where we’ll discuss our reopening plans, covid safety precautions, answer questions and hopefully see many of your wonderful faces again. The zoom link will be on CFSBK.com on Thursday and we hope to see you there.

So glad to hear that CFSBK is still surviving thanks to the amazing gym members. How unfortunate your rent is still at 100%.
Outdoor classes seem challenging, but it would be a blast!
I was checking out some videos of gyms here in Georgia: bikes being used right next to each other, people breathing hard and sweating with no masks… it’s unfortunate that not everyone is as thoughtful as you all.
All the best!

It’s not even a question of whether to support the gym. When I think of the places that keep me sane, CFSBK is at the top of the list. Whether it’s group class, yoga, morning mindfulness, trivia nights.. you name it, it has been a source of solidity during these weird times. I also love that I’ve gotten to know so many people so much better by seeing them day in and day out on Zoom.
I think of it this way. What do you absolutely want to see still around in the future. Small clothing boutiques.. meh. Starbucks.. nope. Breweries… well yes actually.
CFSBK… 100%.
Oh, and the coaches and staff are some of the best humans around.

I can’t make it to the town hall on zoom but just wanted to say that I will be keeping my monthly membership regardless of what options ya’ll explore! Can’t wait to hear more 🙂
Love you all, and love the gym. Ya’ll are keeping me healthy during quarantine!
