I forgot to mention that our heat is on at noon, and we're judging right after.

Very sorry to miss my first FGB, one of the best events of the year at SBK. Have fun, all!

Wish I could be there with you all – this is such a great event! Good luck everyone!

Hey MGMT
Awesome job today putting FGB together!! It ran super smooth.
Wasn't sure if I was supposed to pick up my score sheet or not but would love to have it. I'm kinda organized and like to keep data like that and show my grandkids ( preferably later rather than sooner) how awesome I was back in my 40s. Not even sure what my score was but I'm sure it was better than my last one.
Thanks for a fun Couple of hours!

My first FGB and up to the last second I keep going back and fourth whether to scale or RX!! Push press is a movement we haven't done in a while and sumo dead lifts is something I've never done. So with the encouragement of coach fox and willie telling me I should RX I decided to Give it a shot and super happy that I did! When I finished round 1 I wanted to lay on the ground and cry but with the encouragement of my bad ass judge Becca wolf and telling me to just keep taking long breaths I was able to keep going! Thank you Becca your the best!! I also want to say crossfitsouthbrooklyn you guys did an awesome job! Coaches, management and the community you totally rock!!!
P.S I also would like my score sheet if possible

Fight gone bad was pretty awesome, except for my score. 206. 9 wall balls total! Worst possible scenario. They would not go anywhere near the wall. Mike M. was the most amazing judge and his no reps kept me honest and always aware of form.
I'm over my fear of "competing" and can't wait to do it again. I learned some things that I hope I can apply the next time: 1. Practice the movements until I feel competent. I was counting on things clicking when the clock started, which didn't happen. 2. Don't workout everyday beforehand. 3. Don't keep phone/computer on hand when sleep doesn't come immediately.
I was more nervous for fgb on Thursday. I was really excited this morning and I wish I could've kept the positivity up post score sheet reveal. It's all in the name of fun and fundraising, and it was a really great day! I have a whole year to get better!

I seriously wanted to die right after my team finished. The last time I felt this bad was…oh yeah, right after doing the Paleo challenge capacity test, because I was getting over a cold then too.
But, glad I stuck it out. Always a great day at the gym. I had to cut and run for choir rehearsal, but someone tells me I got 266, which I'm kind of shocked by (in a good way). Thanks Lauren for being the most encouraging judge ever!

Scorecards can be picked up at the Front Desk.
My score was 242 which I was pleased with. I haven't done a conventional FGB in several years and this was a welcome return. Started at Wall Balls which was amazeballs. Best starting position possible IMO. My best FGB moment was getting 28 unbroken WB shots in my first round and thinking it felt EASY. Then I turned around and my heart caught up to my effort. Overall a great day, but that's a given, right?
crossfitsbk@gmail.com says
Also I really liked having Teresa next to me. I wasn't aware of what she was doing at any station other than WB but she keep my pace in rounds 2 and 3.
Ian P says
Today was my first time doing FGB, and this was definitely the time and place to do it: what a crowd. I felt like death after the first two minutes, but I'm happy with my 238, and I'm already kind of excited for next year. Thanks to management for all the beer!
Breebree says
Well that was just as hard as I thought it would be, but it was also super fun. I'm glad I went early to get it over with so I could enjoy the rest of the day without the nerves. I'm also glad I got to judge the amazing Jen before I went because I learned some good pointers and she was an awesome judge giving me really good tips along the way. I'm also cracking up about my cameo in the "carnage" video on Instagram.
To all the coaches/management and everyone who made today happen- thank you so much. Pulling off a day like today so seamlessly is really impressive. I can only imagine the amount of logistics, details and organizing that went into the whole event and it went off without a hitch. Another reason why CFSB rocks.

Another great FGB (my 5th) despite my enfeebled state. Big love to all CFSBKers! MMmmmmwah!
See you tomorrow at 8!
Lindstar says
My first FGB. It was sheer torture waiting to be in the last heat. But equally amazing to finish the last heat with everyone screaming! Thanks to everyone for making this day as awesome as it was! And whoever put the Nine Inch Nails on at the start of my heat…I love you! #havemybabies

First FGB. I think I wanted to cry after the first round. Went HAM on the first round and really paid for it through out. Finished with 234 which totally blew my expectations out of the water. Was my first Rx WOD. Started on wall balls because I knew these were a good place to work in major points.(+row at the end) First round was 29 unbroken WB…felt incredible until I grabbed the bar for my SDHP.
My problem was going HAM out the gate and not having enough gas for rounds 2&3. 93/69/69. But, I didn't have a plan. Didn't want a plan. Wanted to just put numbers up, have fun, and not puke.
Took a good hour to not feel like utter shit. Tacos were bomb.com
Well done to all the athletes. You guys are so inspiring. Thank you MGMT for putting together an incredible event
@lindstar = best judge ever
Lauren says
This is my 2nd time participating in FGB. It is a great event on so many levels.
It supports important projects, in my favorite place no less,
It offers an opportunity for all to experience a crossfit-style competitive event.
It welcomes family and friends,
It's hard work,
It's fun.
Last year I modified so I was excited to go for it this year. Had a plan going in which kept me focused, and even though it didn't go exactly as planned, I scored 1 point higher than the plan prescribed. 256.
Thanks to David for raising my expectations of myself and thanks to Alan for being an awesome judge.
Couldn't be happier with how the day turned out. Thanks management for all your work to make it possible. There was palpable positive energy flowing from the gym and oozing down Degraw St. in both directions for a good portion of today. Where else does that happen?
Charlie says
I'm kind of still speechless and will post properly tomorrow but wanted to tell Rebecca C that I have the Dante's wig. Awesome day.

270 something. Felt awful. Next year start at wall ball and don't be hungover.

MGMT: realized I left my bike at the gym. Will pick It up tomorrow after 730 class. So sorry. Please blame the liters at draft barn.
