Team SBK After Subway Series Event 1
Good Luck Gymnastic Warriors
Happy training to all our athletes taking Coach Noah’s Kipping Pull-Up workshop today as well as everyone starting 4 weeks of Ring Strength and Tumbling classes with Coach Ken. Remember, guys, stick the landing.
Volunteers Needed
Next week CFSBK will be hosting the 2nd event in the 2012 CrossFit Subway Series. In order to make it a successful event, we’ll need some volunteers on hand to help out with registration, scoring, judging and some other miscellaneous. If you’re able to lend a hand, please email Christian(at)CrossFitSouthBrooklyn.com for more information.

Had an excellent workout at my Mom's gym at the JCC here in Florida:
Squat (volume): 280x5x5
Did the first 4 sets w/o the belt. It was strong. Rested 4-5 minutes between sets.
Press (intensity): 145×4, 155×1, 165×1
Jeremy prescribed a triple but I had more and did it. Probably left at least 1, maybe 2 in the tank. I then did a couple of heavy singles but maybeI should have done three and 175 today which would have been a PR. I think I had another 10 pounds in me. 165 went smooth.
Chins: 7, 7, 7, 7
What!? I don't know where that came from, but 7 is a PR and I cranked out 4 sets of them. It's definitely not because I've lost weight. Very pleased to have made up all the lost ground and to roll past where I was back in June.
Jeremy speaks of days when gravity seems to run from you. I've never actually experienced that, but today I felt strong and felt like I could to do whatever I wanted. A nice change after struggling for 4 weeks getting back into this cycle….
See y'all (yeah, I'm in the south) Tuesday.

First classes of the rings and gymnastics today. Skin the cats, L-sits, forward rolls, backward rolls, cartwheels and handstands. I feel like Gaby Douglas.

Super fun (and intense!) first rings class. Kind of want to do tumbling too now.

Was away in CT for most of the weekend but made it back for Noah's kipping class and Supple Leopard trivia (tied for 6th this week).
Saturday was a CF/Ragnar mix in the hot hot sun.
3 mile run. Before the first mile and after each mile perform:
20 ledge jumps (20")
20 push-ups
20 sit-ups
41:07 — good to do something long and challenging. Better to have the LI Sound to jump into immediately afterwards. Friends looked at me like I was crazy while doing this.
Got my first kipping pull-ups during Noah's class, which felt great. Left much more confident about my body position, how to use my hips, etc. I'm thinking this may pay off with hip-heavy exercises like KB swings, cleans, snatches, etc. Will be practicing these lots before and after class.
Stayed after with Greg for today's WOD. Loved the first half, hated the second.
333 reps total:
9 rounds + 3 wall balls (20", 20lb/10')
5 rounds (hand release and sit-up)
