as previous posters have stated, that is a sweet t. will it be available to those of us who are prevented from attending sunday’s festivities by stupid bar mitzvahs in connecticut? pretty please?
also, great 6am with shane this morning. got to make up some missed volume squat work from earlier in the week. even more exciting, I did my very first pull up!!!! doing an honest to goodness pull up has been a clear goal since I started foundations, and reaching it is profoundly awesome. thank you to all the coaches at CFSBK for their part in getting me to this point. of course now that I have one pull up crossed off the list, I can finally go ahead and quit crossfit forever. huzzah!

Yoshi, that’s amazing! I am *salivating* after that first pullup but I know it’s weeks if not months away. It’s so inspiring to hear that you’ve gotten there!
Love the shirt — I wish I were around to join all you Murph-ers this weekend!

Quick Question, would we allow someone to participate sunday if they havent completed foundations?
Billy K says
I am hoping to row Murph. I read that 2k was the rowing scale. I haven’t rowed a 2k before, any advice?

apropos of nothing much, other than a lot of CFSBKers having some sweet tatts, can anyone comment on Saved in Williamsburg? I was referred there after another rejection from Thomas Hooper at Adorned, but I know nothing about it.
Also, Yoshi, your posts are motivating me to get my ass back in to the 6am’s.

Gonna try to answer some folks questions…(MGMT, please correct me if I’m wrong!)
Yes those t-shirts rock! They will be available for sale to ALL, not just those participating in Murph. ๐
David P.–yes, spectators are welcome! Come check us out!
Danh3–it’s hard to give a yes/no without knowing anything about the individual’s background. We definitely wouldn’t want anyone with limited exposure to these movements hitting Murph. Safety first! ๐
Billy–Here’s a great article by Nick about rowing a (single) 2K. http://crossfitbrooklyn.typepad.com/crossfit_brooklyn/rowing-a-2000m-race.html But, just so you know, Murph is not the time to try to PR on your mile run or in your case a 2k row. Remember you wouldn’t want to go all out on that first mile/row when you’ve got a shit-ton of work left to do.
Yosh–congrats on that Pullup!!! So awesome.
Shawn$ says
Hey Jenna,
I think Thomas Hooper works at Saved now. A lot of the Brooklyn Adorned crew are there now since the shop closed.
Thomas actually hasnt written me back for over a month now. Wish I could say differently–but thats just how he is. I guess you can do that when you’re in such high demand as an artist.
And even though its no consolation–he’s a cool guy to talk to when you’re in the chair.
If you like Thomas’ work Check out Jondix. He’s in the Netherlands I think, but does a lot of tours. http://holytrauma.com/?page_id=46
I think Thomas has gotten a lot of his inspiration from Jondix–some of Jondix’ stuff I actually like better.

@jess thx for answering my question..i think the only thing for me to do now aside from checking you guys out is to sign up for a foundations class.

Thanks Joe and Jess, your answers are both helpful in their own ways!
David Osorio says
Jess nailed the questions on the head
Yesterday:Worked up to some heavy singles on the Clean with Brian. Need to start a little more forward than I had been and create a bigger chest when I catch the bar. I had one rep at like 170? Where everything came together and it felt like 135
Today:Gymnastics at Chelsea Piers with SamWorked:1) Front Flips and Back Flips into the Foam Pits2) Uneven bars (hard!) Lots of things I dont know the name of where you flip around it and jumping from one bar to the other and then more flipping around.3. Then Round offs to Back Handsprings.4. Handstand Practice
The instructor said this about me after class which I think sums it up well. You’ve got really great power, timing and strength, your technique is just really bad.
It’s nice to feel like a beginner again ๐

made up 5×3 squat at 235#. last set was best after some coaching from Margie on bar position and gaze.
Is there any shoulder mobility prep for lbbsq? I have trouble achieving and maintaining that shoulder/elbow position.
then, in an effort to prepare for Hybrid total, press, 75×10, 80×10, 85×10.
