Carmelo and Ernesto work on the first coat of paint. We went with light gray accented with black and red. The community area, office and bathroom will be painted, the rest of the space will stay raw.
Now that the floors have been sealed, we can cut and lay down the mats. We've gained some square footage so we'll need to purchase more mats over the next couple months.

Yesterday I did a modified version of the main site workout. I changed it because it had heavy Thrusters and my previous two workouts had heavy cleans so my quads were kinda trashed.
5 Rounds for time:500m Row7 Mid Hang Power Cleans, 165#’s
21:03
Went about 70-80% on the rower and slowish on the clean reps because I wanted the quality of movement to stay high. This was an enjoyable workout.
Afterwards I practiced handstands (a little) with Nick, worked on my split jerks and then later in the evening did Bench Press 140x5x3 with Malcolm. I’m looking forward to resting tomorrow.

1. Do you guys prefer links to pop out or change the current window? This includes links and the posted picture.
2. My current obsession is the “Re-Arrange Us” album by Mates of State. I also heard the “Space Odyssey” single off MIA’s upcoming album which is dopeee.

That embroidered heart is amaaaaaazing. And the rest of Andrea Drezso’s stuff is no less impressive. Have to go see that paper show at the museum of art and design.
I’m in search of a musical obsession. Nothing’s really infecting me at the moment. Most recently, though, it’s been Quasi: Featuring Birds and R&B Transmogrification. In between I always return to Elliott Smith. Soothes the inner sad sack.

I don’t claim to know anything about music, but my most recent, that’s-so-2009 obsession was “Strict Joy” …sort of “feelgood breakup music,” if there is such a thing.

Enjoyed all links in today’s posting. Loved that they popped up in a new window! Can we have that when others post links too? (Ex: the link Fox posted doesn’t pop up in a new window).

Warmup3 rounds NFT of:10e One-arm KB swings (12kg)10 double unders10 pushups
LBBS: (45×5, 95×5, 125×3) 135x3x5
I intended to do sets across at 165 but I had to check myself since I felt as if I’d never squatted before. It’s kinda frustrating that 135 felt so heavy. Can’t figure out if this is related to the Paleo challenge or the lack of consistent strength work…or both.
Then a little metcon of the couplet:Double Unders–75, 65, 55Push Jerk @85lbs–15, 9, 6TIME 10:40
I really miss SBK group classes! Can’t wait to see everyone again. I wonder what our first WOD at Degraw will be???

Late to the party, but Buried at Sea’s “Ghost” is pretty awesome. And heeaaaavvvyyy.
My buddy Ross turned me on to this band called Bohren and Der Club of Gore. Pretty sweet apocalypse jazz, but you’ve gotta be in the mood.
We will listen to “Ghost” and lift upon my return in February.
