Developing confidence and control with your kick ups is essential before taking your handstands to a partner or the wall. Kicking up to panel mats are a great way to develop this skill.

Beautiful day in the park! Also, lots of blazing fast times. Two people going sub 20 minutes? Wow.
Thanks Dave, Fox and Laurel for keeping time, organizing, watching bags, and offering moral support:)
I was sad to miss brunch, but I have to support my team through thick and thin, though it’s mostly thin at this point.

Thanks to Fox, McG and Laurel for their part in the 5k. It was great to have John push the pace toward the second half of the race to push me harder. I need to do more sprint intervals to have that extra gear at the end.
Ash says
Really enjoyed the run this morning, tks Chris, McG and laurel for getting us organized. 25:16.
Laurel says
Well, everyone, we have to go back and do it again cause I’m a lousy photographer and want another try at it… actually, next time I should be running too. I got a few good shots, but most were a bit blurry… GRRRR. Need to get some pointers from Dan and Malcolm.
It sure was a beautiful morning though, and I’m impressed by all the people who ran it for the first time today.
Tushar says
Thank you Laurel, Fox and David for making this 5K run so smooth. Great morning to be in the park!

I actually kinda enjoyed it. I know that sounds sick. It may be that I just ran it so slow. 29:49. I had no clue how to pace this so I just stuck with Katie which was good, because I would have gone too fast at the beginning and burned out.
Next time I think I can shoot for 9 minute miles. Or slightly faster. The end caught me off guard.

Another fun 5K fieldtrip. Thank you Dave McG.,Laurel and Chris for the organization and “stuff watching.”27:52. Huge improvement over last time.Next time Nino, next time.Aaaaah, to be outside on a day like today!
Jess says

27:48My first 5k! I’m not going to be breaking any land speed records anytime soon.
Thanks to the organizers/timekeepers/photo takers/stuff-watchers.
And thanks to Deb for giving me a reason to turn it up at the end!
Laurel says
Jess – that’s a terrific picture. We miss you!
Fox says
Great turnout today at the park.
Comgrats to John for being pretty damn fast!
And to Shaun for running his longest distance to date!
Great job, everyone!
Sarah says
Sorry to miss the 5k. Paul and I are committed to parkour class tomorrow at 3pm. Maybe some of you would like to join us? http://nyparkour.com/classes.html
Shaun M says
34:something. Wasn’t sure I could actually do this (never really ran more than a mile before), but I really wanted to try and Chris and Jenna were great at getting me through! Best part was sprinting around the last corner to find people cheering me on!
Shane says
Really bummed I missed another 5k! Sounds like you all had a blast. Thanks to Fox, David and Laurel for running what sounds like an awesome event.
I wanted to thank all of the CFers that came out to the Comic Con yesterday either to volunteer or to just come kick it and support Regan. It means the world to both of us and made things run smooth. Also a big thanks to everyone who ‘odd object lifted’ on Thursday to help clear the space. So if you’re around today and love comic books come on down. Otherwise we’ll see you all tomorrow.
Matt R. says
That was really a a lot of fun. Let’s do it again, before the weather turns to shit!
24:15. Def would like to avoid running past the finish and backtrack next time.
Thanks for organizing Chris, David and Laurel.
