Remember that we don't have evening classes the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th of this month. Our normal 7am classes are still on and if theres interest we can do 6am and 7am classes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please post to comments if you could make it and we'll book it. Check out the Events Calendar for a current schedule.
Remember that this Saturday, normal classes have been replaced with a Prospect Park 5K run at 9:30am. If you're interested, please email Christian(at)CrossFitSouthBrooklyn.com to RSVP.

DID ANYONE HAPPEN TO CATCH THE ARRIVAL OF THE USS NEW YORK, I WAS THE GUY THIRD FROM THE BACK AND SECOND MARINE FROM LEFT.
THEN I WENT TO MID CITY GYM MET UP WITH GILLIAN AND WAS THRASHED BY THE HQ SITES WOD, 95LBS SNATCH x3 AND 95LBS OVER HEAD SQUATS x15 THEN RUN 400 METERS TOTAL OF 5 ROUNDS IN 23 MINUTES.

First WOD in India with coach Margie:
Several sets of Deadlifts while some athletes of the Norwegian and the Czech powerlifting team were preparing for their competition. It was both intimidating and motivating.
Then a short metcon:10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 ofDB-Thrusters (15kg)Push Ups(time: 4:40)
India is quite an exciting experience. And there’s still some belly dancing on the agenda…

Deadlfits were heavy. But as Andy said, the weights are heavier here than in the US.
The our little metcon (full disclosure, the rep scheme was 10,9,8… but we were too gassed) in 4:46.
Holy crap it’s hard to workout during a powerlifting meet in India.
i get a week off from work and still have to wake up early in the morning. darn you lyceum. sign me up for the 7am on all those days. ugh. speaking of 7am classes.
WOD: DEADLIFT 3-3-3-3-3
155*6, 245*5 (WARMUP) 245*3, 255*3, 265*3 (pr), 265*2, 245*3
stopped at 265 as per “el capitan” and of course he was right felt my form get shaky on the second 265 set. my hips are stronger than my shoulders.
db snatch wod. 12:45did 35lbs on rd1 then dropped to 25lbs. this was harder than expected. trying to do them properly and not stomp because of my knee.
im tentatively down for some climbing. what time?
i will try my darndest to do 7am…
that is the first week after my season was over, so I was looking to start hitting it hard.
But AMs???? Fine.

I like 6 am. Well, I don’t really like it actually, but I would go.
I’d be able to make it to the 7am’s, 6 if necessary.
LBBS’s @ local gym with mirrors everywhere and 2 guys alternating between bench press and incline db bench press. Their arms are so fit.

Really tried to focus on “ass back” and not letting myknees cave in. Weird though doing this by myself with nocoaching or motivation. Happy I got to 170 and then tried175 for shits and giggles. Got one up but it didn’t lookpretty so I called it quits.
WOD: 5 x 3 back squat
45 (warm up), 95 (warm up) 115, 125, 135, 135, 135
db snatch: 11:15
Legs: SHOT!
If you missed it, David had a nice come-to-Jesus moment/talk about not pushing foolishly for PRs, and fucking up your body in the process. Point, taken. I actually wish this was reminded more.
3-5 warm up sets before workout loads. Word is bond!
One last thing. Cfsbk has the cutest damn kids! I love that picture of Kamau in a perfect squat.
