http://factsanddetails.com/china.php?itemid=322&catid=13&subcatid=85#04Rather than worrying about using 1 sheet of toilet paper to wipe our behinds, or using cfl bulbs or driving a Prius, all of which are arguably worse (or more stinky) environmentally than their counterparts, perhaps we should pressure the Chinese to go nuclear or at least to clean up their coal act. They are the worst polluters on planet earth, and no amount of “feel good pat ourselves on the back” green little things we do is going to make things better until the Chinese stop. How about it, Walmart? Maybe a little boycott action is needed.I will step off the soapbox now…..

I just realized there were handstands! I didn’t get to do handstands. I guess I’ll be coming back tonight.
I did 12 minutes of du’s. 5 was the most I could get. Not a PR. Rather stinky, actually.

I’m doing calf raises tonight. If only we had a mirror so I could make sure my form was good. I guess I’ll just have to wing it.

Can anyone recommend a good shoulder surgeon? Ideally someone who’s next available appointment is sometime before 2012.
Something is seriously wrong with my right shoulder… again. Where it’s always irritated, now I can’t lift my elbow or twist my arm in any direction without cringing in pain. I’m just sick of it. I’ve always figured surgery would be in the cards and I think it’s about time I look into it.
Vincent should know people, make sure you hit him up if he doesn’t see your post.

Fun doing handstand work. Thanks Fox for coaching our group through them. I’m beginning to think Paulie was a gymnast in a previous life.
Low bar back squats:(45×5, 75×5, 95×5)120×5, 135×5, 145×5, 155×5, 160×5
The recurring theme for me tonight was “butt back”. Still need to get more comfortable with the bar position too. Really great lifting with Katie tonight and watching her hit200x5 like it was cake. I loved how she called tonight “squat vacation”!
failed on the 3rd rep at 265 and decided to call it a day. my butt was hurting 🙁
WOD: PRESS 100*3*4, 105*3
good news considering my 1rm is 110. slowly but surely. great working with nick, thanks for the tips. then we did ring dips 3*5. i was officially done after this
I am pleased as I got 165 for my 1RM last week, so I feel like this was a good showing. Thanks Jeremy for extremely helpful technique coaching & cueing.
David said to do the split squats with heavier weight than last time. Uh, not tonight. Did 2x5ea with 25#, called it quits and took Linus home. (Last time did 1 set w/ 20#, 2 sets w/ 25#.)
Linus thanks uncle David for the holding and bouncing! He loved the squats.
135x5205x5250x5270x5300x6 (this round was mostly if not all shallow which probably means that I should ease back on the weight. I’ll see the next time around.)
I had fun learning handstands. As always, David and Fox are excellent coaches.

Good working with Leo on squats. Thanks to Jeremy for correcting my thumb and wrist positioning. I worked a bit on OHS and pistols afterwards.
Still having trouble finding the drive out of the hole. Decided to go submax and work technique.I also got in a :34 free standing handstand.
Very happy with everyone’s handstand showing.

Perhaps if I hadn’t said “I can’t!” in the middle of the third rep at 165, it would have gone up… as it was, I let out some air and couldn’t get past the sticking point. Still, this was great!
David – very impressive handstand! I think I’m a long way from catching up to you. The best I got yesterday was 18 seconds (included some walking, not holding perfectly still.)

Warmed up with handstand practice.
Back squat warm up: 45×5, 45×5, 95×5, 135×5, 185×5. Work: 205×5, 225×5, 235×5(PR), 245x3F. Knees started to collapse on the last set. Called an end when this happened. I think I could have finished the set but the form would have been regrettable and I want to keep good form to avoid injury.

Low bar felt pretty good today. Ran out of time for a 5th set. I think I could have had 275-280 in a last attempt. Looking to get 300+ for a 1RM sometime soon.
Saw some nice squats tonight – Ryan, Katie, Bethany, John McCann-Doyle…
Paulie…He’s a gymnast in THIS life.
Good fun getting everyone inverted for a bit tonight. See, David? No one crash landed.
Shane – Safe travels back to SBK!
