With a "100% chance" of rain after 6pm and us not being in the Lyceum this evening, we're going to have to Cancel Classes Tonight. The Management (David) apologizes for the inconvenience. If you talk to anyone else from class, please spread the word.
CrossFit Virtuosity and Brooklyn Boulders offer additional opportunities for training. Members might also consider checking out the Russian Turkish Baths for some therapeutic Hot Saunas and Cold Plunges.
Post plans to comments.

Boo. Now I’ll have to work my co-op shift.
Jenna says
dang it.maybe i’ll do my coop make up shift with my free night and run before 6.stupid rain.
stephaniep says
might hit up the Dodge Y and try to make up yesterday’s wod (or any wod). anyone want to join?
Tam says
Although it would be totally in character for me to show up at the wrong time for class, completely by virtue of my own error, I feel compelled to point out the fact that on the events calendar does *indeed* say 7:30 am. Just sayin’. I’m not right very often.
That said, I did do this:
30 kettleball swings (What was the weight of the big black one again? 20kg? Because, really, that sounds way to heavy).500 m row
x3
4:11.89 (I forgot to hit stop the first time, so who really knows)3:45.674:02.89
This was hard.
Mike says
I did the following in the rain on my knee’s with my shirt off and an angry face on,ehh emm (clearing the throat)
“NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO DAMM YOU RAIN DAMM YOU!!!!!”
Steph W says
Miss you Anne!!
I need a really good reason not to just go home after work and pull the covers over my head. Curse you, miserable rain!
Jess says
I am secretely happy for the rain. With too much work, too little sleep and a damn cold, I’m really looking forward to a rest day. Chris and I will most likely be doing laundry and cleaning the apartment for time.
But a 5pm class on Friday would be nice…
Dan Rx'd says
Oooh, yesterday’s WOD… I want to crush it!
Where’s this “Y” you speak of Stephanie P?
Chris Fox says
Jess is not very good at keeping secrets. I tell her, first rule is “don’t post your secret on the Internet”.
No rainy day WOD? I think everyone should take the evening to work as hard in their kitchens as they do at SBK. Cook a nice meal.
.DMG says
steph, dan. what time you thinking at the dodge y?
stephaniep says
dan – Y is on atlantic ave @ court street. i take it you aren’t a member? i wish i had all my stuff unpacked, i have some free passes somewhere! maybe we can weasel you in for a trial??
dmg – maybe 6?
Charlotte says
My plan for tonight is to put Linus to bed at 7pm, followed shortly by myself. 7am class today was TOUGH after a relatively wakeful night with the young master.
I did the thruster workout:
5 rounds 12 pullups (white band), 6 thrusters (80 lbs)11:52.
I kind of wussed out on the thrusters–Dave, thanks for encouraging me to go to 80# and pushing me through the last set. I shoulda done all 5 sets unbroken. I fear thrusters.
Pullups felt not bad w/ the white band–hope to move to unassisted soon!
Sameer Parekh says
anyone want to go to bkb at 5?
Nino says
I did the pullups/thrusters WOD scaled to 85lbs and with the green band. My time was crap – over 17 minutes. I was feeling mighty weak and slow today, in spite of Cloyde and Richie’s verbal encrouagement. Thanks guys!
BUT, it was nice to be doing some vertical pulling and pressing again after backing off for bit due to tweaky shoulder.
I really need to learn how to kip.
.DMG says
steph. that’s too early. gonna try and go later.
Dan Rx'd says
@Stephanie P — no, not a member. I didn’t even know there was a Y around there. I should be able to get there by 6 though! Will be in touch via text shortly.
cloyde says
had to hit the early class since i napped a little too long yesterday.
WOD: PUSH PRESS 5X3
45*7 (warmup) 75*5, 85*5, 95*5, 105*1, 95*5, 95*5, 95*5
i suck at pressing, need to work on this a lot. I’ll get you next time press.
WOD: DEAD-LIFT: 5X3
185*5 (warm-up) 205*3, 225*3, 245*3, 255*3, 265*F
for some reason that 265 wouldn’t move even though I’ve pulled it before. maybe it was lack of breakfast. anyway, i called it a day after three attempts. form felt good throughout so I’m pretty happy.
BTW, Chris were you serious about the beard growing contest? I’m done to get my grizzly adams on.
Chris Fox says
Oh yes, Cloyde…Grizzly that b**ch up!
stephaniep says
OK. 6pm at the Dodge Y
Atlantic Ave at Court Street. $10 day pass if you aren’t a member. (thanks for calling Dan!)
Going to tackle yesterday’s WOD hopefully, based on equipment available.

One more thing about my wife’s superfun new cooking school:
In addition to the classes that are already scheduled, my wife would love to hear any suggestions that CFSBK folks might have for future class topics. E-mail her at theoakridgekitchenATgmail.com with your ideas to see if she can design a special class for you and your like-minded buddies.
David Mak says
Went to the gym on the army post – very Globo Gym like but it works.
I did a 5×5 deadlift since I’ve been missing those:155×5, 205×5, 255×5, 275×5, 285x5Don’t know if I can actually count the 285 as 5 reps, I did 2 stepped away for a count, did another 2 then 1. Man that felt heavy. Also did 50 Knees to elbows in sets of 10Double under practice for about 10 minutes -started out stringing together between 14-17 (with a couple of 5’s sprinkled in) finished stringing together between 20-24 with a PR of 27.
Nick Peterson says
Went to Slope Fitness. Waaah. Did 8 x 250m with 2′ rest on the erg. Kept splits under 1:30/500m.
I got asked to race at the Head of the Charles, to replace someone who got injured! Our row to the start will be our training. I’ll be in the Men’s Championship Double this Saturday (event #25), starting at 3:47, in boat #6. The regatta website is http://www.hocr.org//home/default.asp. It’s a three-mile race on the Charles River. It’s going to be a sh*t show! But fun.
Dan Rx'd says
That’s awesome Nick!
Chris Fox says
Good Luck Nick!
David Mak says
Awesome, good luck Nick!
.DMG says
nice one nick, best of luck.
did the 30 min rowing workout (wu 10min, 10min 12-16 spm, cd 10 min) with bjorn at the dodge y tonight.
good stuff. stayed in the 12-14 spm range and managed to hover around the 2min mark.
those ergs at the y need some wd40 and tlc!!
Joe says
Congrats Nick! I can’t get the link to work, but the race sounds fun!
Dan Rx'd says
DMG — must have just missed you at the Y. Steph and I left around 7ish.
Agreed that the ergs at the Y suck. Actually, my experience at the Y sucked in general. I want, I need, my CrossFix! 😉
Sameer Parekh says
cool, good luck nick! when is see rowing on the charles i always think of oxford blues. you are our very own rob lowe!
tam says
Good luck, Nick.
stephaniep says
good luck nick! its going to be a cold one but the Head of the Charles is such a great event!
dan and i went to the Dodge Y and had quite the experience. did wednesday’s wod at 75/115# MHPC, pushups and box jumps (on an aerobesizer step thing) and almost got ourselves kicked out. dan apparently was my “trainer” (i think the all black outfit didn’t help), our box jumps were disrupting the yoga class next door and people were definitely staring. my first real cf wod experience at the Y and prob my last. apparently counting reps for someone is considered “training” them…
me:R1: 2 rounds, 8 cleans, 6 pushupsR2: 2 rounds evenR3: 1 round, 8 cleans, 10 pushups, 6 box jumps
dan:R1: 4 rounds, 4 cleansR2: 2 rounds evenR3: 2 rounds even
(I think that is right for R2 dan – i don’t have my book in front of me)
it was a fun wod, would like to try it again in a more supportive atmosphere.
accessory work: ice cream and coffee then zog volleyball w/ my work team. we won!
Becca says
Good Luck, Nick!
gabrus says
good luck nick, that sounds badass/beautiful…much like yourself.
and just so you guys dont think I have been lying to you
