Chris, thanks for that link. Much appreciated. Big thanks to Comrade (Yo, why so anonymous?), Shawn, Malcolm and Shane also for the kind words in response to my Thursday post. It helped a lot.
The Bear was quite brutal, paws and all. I played it safe, did 65, and then stayed with 75 for the next four sets. But it was a good learning experience, and I figured out that doing a full squat on the clean made the whole complex a little shorter, and that second/last push press becomes a whole lot easier by shooting up from the back squat. Worked with Tushar on this one and had a great time – very good support! Thanks.

I was glad to complete the last round. That’s just an uncomfortable wod, especially the muscles around back of the neck and shoulders (due to the presses).
THE BEAR!!really like this WOD. maintaining grip was a bitch. strung thrusters together until 125. needed to break the movement down at 135. good lifting with björn as always.

Great day at the gym. Had the pleasure of watching Christine and Tamson and then Julie/Shawn M & Christian/Matt Robard take on the Bear. Everyone’s movements sharpened over the course of the workout. Really impressive. People hit this hard today.
Finally got to do this WOD. David and I partnered up post-classes and chipped away at it.
95-115-135-140-145(F)
I would not have been as aggressive with the weight if it wasn’t for Dave’s lead. But glad it went down how it did. 95 was the sloppiest and then I got the rhythm down over the course of the remaining sets. I just up and quit on the last push-press of the 2nd rep at 145. Totally lost focus and just pitched the bar. That weight is certainly doable. Shoulda, coulda, woulda.
Joined up w/ the burger crawlers at the final stop at Diner in Williamsburg. Best burger I’ve had in God knows how long and Regan’s first burger in 15 years. She CRUSHED that burger. Go ahead girl.
Had a great day at work and at play with you guys. See everyone tomorrow.

We missed Regan’s first burger And it was at Diner And we missed the Bear?! Bebotheration! Sounds like quite the day.
It is pretty amazing just breathing here and we needed some downtime, so I can’t really complain… Oh for a teleporter and time machine… Sameer, I don’t suppose your evil genius has brought such things into the world?
Took today for “active recovery” — John and I did the Bear @ 95lbs across each of the 5 sets. Not exactly easy, but not especially challenging either.
Had to put my usual spin on it, and went for turbo speed…
Clean, into thrusters, catch the bar behind the head during the descent into the squat, and then thruster it back up from behind the head. Get’s the work done FAST. Sucks a whole bunch too.
Did some double under time trials later, can consistently score about 60 consecutive DU’s in 30 seconds. Going to try 1 minute time trials tomorrow. Hope to get 105 to 110 in 60 seconds. LTG: 200 consecutive in 2 minutes.
Doable? Yes. Suckage? I’m banking on it.
