We've got three new larger chalk buckets.  When chalking up, try to keep your hands inside the bucket and avoid allowing excess to spill out onto the ground.  If a WOD requires more chalk stations please ask a coach to set up another bucket, don't take part of a brick out for personal use.

Glad to see the Ergs getting plenty of use.  When you're done with a rowing piece, always put the handle back towards the window as opposed to in the saddle.  This puts less stress on the machine and makes for a happy erg.

In order to conserve tape and ensure that members have their own hand protection should they rip, we're putting in a bulk order for Gymnastics Grips.  Please review the options and choose which grip you'd like to purchase.  Prices range from $2-$12 and are well worth it.  Post make and size to comments in order to reserve your pair.

    Hmmm.

    Im now worried that those are gonna be too small for anyone with hands bigger than mine (everyone).

    The rage ones are definitely bigger (size chart on the leather hand grips page).

    I don’t feel like I have very big hands, but they’re outside the range listed on the US Glove page…

    Anyone out there thinking of doing a 30 day Paleo Challenge?

    I’m considering going 30 days strict starting 9/14.

    I plan on going out fighting… Who’s down for burger tours on one, or both, of the next 2 Saturdays (5th and 12th).

    guys, i tried the kids XL as my first pair… didnt realize they were kids, and based it on measurement alone. even with my small hands (ring size 4 mind you), the kids XLs were too small. i am pretty sure the special color ones are the kids sizes. don’t make the mistake I made… cause i have 2 pairs of kids ones still sitting here.

    David, i just checked– the rainbow ones are the children’s sizes… i still have the rage chart that they sent me after the fact.

    the Rage ones for adults are the All American or the squareish ones. All the rest will be too small for everyone if an XL was too small for me. Go with the Rage– but sad that everyone won’t have colors to match their fancy leotards. Boo.

    im down for some rage medium i think. i damn sure dont have large hands.

    WOD: PRESSwarmup: 45, 75*585, 95, 100f, 95, 100, 105f

    got to my goal of 100 so im somewhat satisfied but it still doesnt feel comfortable enough, especially with laurel nipping at my heels.

    post wod practiced some kipping pullups, did about 60 total with a set of 15 and the others around 8-12. need to get 21 straight to help with some of these wods.practiced muscle ups with the group and as usual close but no cigar, congrats to vincent, ryan and of course laurel on knocking out some strict muscle ups.

    Fun warm up.

    Press was really tough today for some reason.Warm up – 95×5, 105x2WOD – 115×1, 125F, 125×1, 127F, 125×1, 126F, 120x1Damn you 125!! Felt very weak today. Last time I got up to 125×3 so I thought I would break 125 for sure but it just wouldn’t go. Definite weakness on my right side that I’ll have to work on w/dumbells.

    Post WOD muscle up practice.

    Congrats Ryan, Vincent and, of course, Laurel on the muscle ups! Laurel – smooth!!!

    Anne – your lifting was excellent today. You fought it out amazingly… and yes, EAT, and eat well!

    2×1 strict muscle-ups! This was completely unexpected. I watched everyone enviously, decided to try for 95lbs on the press just to be doing something during muscle-up practice. It looked like so much fun that I decided to tape up my bad wrist and just hang on the rings a little, just to see how much it hurt… hanging hurt so I started to pull just to see if I could and suddenly I had my thumbs in my armpits and was pressing up. It was utterly astonishing. Anyway, I’m thrilled. Hope I can still do one on Saturday.

    Today sucked,Had a flat tire on my bike so I was late to class, and then press didn’t go well at all, failed at 120 which I did in the 5×3. Thanks Shane for your advice and support.I’ll take the Rage Leather Hand Grips in Large (or whatever size the pair we have now is).Stay tuned for some WODs from Israel :), esp. my birthday one!

    “Strict rage” is inordinately funny to me. Also, is the place to order a Bowflex machine? Yes? Ok, good. Can someone drop it off in Carroll Gardens?

    I’d be interested in doing some form of paleo challenge (and by that I mean probably my own bastardization thereof), though I’d need to figure out how to achieve that being a HORRRRRRible cook (salads I can do) and not having a grocery store near me that’s open past 8pm.

    It was good to work with Jenna and to focus on my form. Thanks, Shane, for all your help, too.

    Chris – I am also curious about doing a 30-day strict Paleo….right now I’m on the path but not doing it 100%. As with you and Jess, this is easier if Paul is game, too, so I’m going to consult with him. I love the idea of sharing recipes, etc.

    Alcohol – yes or no?

    Timing-wise, I would have to start after September 28 because of holiday/family stuff, though where it would be extremely difficult to avoid non-Paleo food.
