running in the rain. or reading, having a cocktail, or just hanging out with windows/doors open so you can hear it.
i was at brooklyn tavern last weekend on sunday when it started to pour. we hung out under the awning outside and it was pretty great watching the rain come down.
rugby in the rain on a muddy pitch can be A LOT of fun too!

Hi CFSBK! I’m almost quite literally IN The Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Maine in a tiny tiny fishing village, drowning in lobster fat. Sad I am leaving this weekend to tumult back into NYC madness, but excited to get moving at the Crossfit gym again…also very scared as it will have been 10 days since my last real WOD.
However, six hour hikes up the coastline and through mountains, sleeping in a storm under just a thin fabric of tent (which to answer the question, is by far the most exhilarating thing I’ve done in the rain), and eating the produce and sea life reaped entirely by neighbors, yoga on the friggin’ coastline and staying in a cottage that literally floats in the ocean = all irreplacable.
I’m squirrelled in a public library taking care of emails and business now; mentally assessing poison ivy rashes, various bug bites and a totally blown out right quad muscle (thank you, Baxter State Park… also, do people have good stretch recommendations for what feels like a quad muscle ON FIRE?). Strangely finding it more entertaining reading the comments here than in the TV I haven’t watched, the radio I haven’t listened to, the movies I haven’t been to, in over a week.
I love all the music suggestions btw, but in a horrid twist of fate, there were a couple days this week wherein I’ve been unable to get the Golden Girls’ theme song out of my head! …don’t ask.

I like to curl up on the couch with my dog and watch a DVD. If its raining REALLY hard and its warm enough outside I sometimes go run around all crazy outside.
For anyone who is paleo, going paleo or doing a paleo challenge, I just created a paleo cookbook to raise funds for FGB4. There are more than 60 recipes, 100 pages, full color and big photos as well as an online database for the nutritional content of each recipe.
-and I gotta agree with steph, playing a rugby match in the mud is quite awesome…especially for the forwards.

Favorited rain activities:Outside – Whatever as long as it includes mud; You have to surrender completely to the experience.Inside with windows/doors wide open: Sleeping; Having drinks and great food with wonderful friends.
I’ve never played rugby but I’d love to give it a shot.
Tonight’s rain enjoyed at the place I most enjoy enjoying rain: the peace, comfort, and quiet of my apartment after a month of non-stop travel and work and no downtime whatsoever. Best way to enjoy rain — zzzzs at night in bed.
