“To be a warrior
is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless
struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody
is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other.”
-Carlos Castaneda
Remember that we are starting at 11am and running through the 12pm class. There is no 10am or Teaser today. Enjoy the Storm.

Happy Birthday Jacinto! I wish I were there to join you in the pain/celebration – at least I’m wearing my warrior t-shirt to CF Oakland today!
Have fun!

Happy Birthday Jacinto! And good luck to everyone today…You guys dont need luck…do you thing!
I’m going to do my Jacinto Storm or in my case, thundershower tomorrow. The awesome thing is: I think I can sub pull ups with poolside muscle ups on the ledge of the pool and also do some dips on the treadmill.
This morning did a mod of the Crossfit Endurance WOD from yesterday
4 min Tabata sprint outside in the sun
8 min Tabata 200 watt on stationary bike
4 minute Tabata sprint on treadmill at 12% incline.
Renegade Rows: 10@20#, 8@25#, 6@30#, 4@30#, 2@30# each arm.
Then Then Then–got in the pool and did a 8 minute Tabata swim.Finishing a workout in the pool was an awesome feeling! I havent had a good swim in years. I have to say I know its not very likely but if our new space could have a pool we’d be the best box ever.
Now off to Walden Pond to relax with family and friends!

Happy Birthday, Jacinto! I really do wish I was there with you. Have a wonderful time, all and do like only Brooklyn does! Josh should be there representing the Makowski clan in person and I am with you all in spirit.

Almost RX’d. There weren’t any 1.5 pood KB when it was time so I grabbed a 1 pood. 56:09.
Met pukie during the wallball. I think about 20 minutes of my time was just wall ball.
Erik K. says
48:33 (with 20kg kb)
Far slower then I’d hoped. The run and squats were fine. Push-ups were the first sign of a problem. Wall-balls wrecked the left side of my lower back, which made the kettlebells have to be broken in sets of 10 and the deadlift in sets of 5. Too many breaks, mostly trying to stretch out the back. I wish Leo were there to yell at me. It was still a great workout and a great time.
It was also awesome watching Jacinto power through this monstrosity of his own creation.
Now, a quick rest (with chocolate), shower and then BBQ.
Bjorn says
Happy birthday, Jacinto! You are the man. Looking at you go at it with a broken foot made me quit whining immediately. Sorry I can’t make the bbq.
41:12, jumping pullups, half of the pushups were from knees, 1 pood KB.
My upper body weakness is really getting boring, otherwise I felt pretty good about this one, though I also almost met pukie on the wall balls. KB swings and deadlifts felt solid though.
Always fun to do these mass workouts at the lyceum, great energy all around. Only bummer was that we’re apparently out of Warrior t-shirts.

35:35 with jumping pulls-ups, 14 lbs wall ball and 1 pood KB. Great workout.
Happy Birthday Jacinto – you are an inspiration (and a Warrior!).
Laurel says
53:53 (with 12kg kb – I’m now doubting that 12kg was Rx’d… I just grabbed an available one and went with it.)
push-ups were the worst for me. got my first two sets of ten, but then had to go with sets of five, then threes and twos. I was pacing myself in the squats until Jacinto came by and said “faster faster, you can go faster”.
Wonderful experience, especially having people from other boxes. Happy Birthday again Jacinto! Now for BBQ.

51:15 with jumping pull ups 8lb wall ball and 8kg kb. i went too light on the kb and wall bal but i was just trying to finish. shoulders were good until push up 45 then it was time for the knees. wonderful experience but thank god its only once a year.happy birthday jacinto, watching you do this on one leg will help cut my whining down to a minimum when a wod gets too hard.

The STORM37:33row instead of runsubbed half the pull ups for jumping ones, shoulder felt iffy1 pood KB
very very cool to see so many people at CFSBK today to celebrate the warriors birthday.

Happy Birthday Jacinto! Thanks for a great day! I hope to do it faster at 71 reps.
55:31 RX. Happy to RX anything!
Dragged Christine in who of course smoked me.
Thank you to everyone for being so gracious about the boys. It allowed Chris & I to share a workout on our 16th anniversary (actually yesterday).
Many happy returns Jacinto!

37:47 subbing modified pushups, jumping pull-ups, 10lb wall ball. Jacinto you are an inspiration, looking forward to the 71 storm next year!

Happy Birthday Jacinto. Thank you to Carmen for putting together the wonderful bbq that evening.
46:09
As expected, the wallball and KB swings were the hardest.
Squats: 25/25/20Pullups: sets of ten for a bit, then sets of 5Pushups: sets of 10 all the way throughWB: Sets of 5 with the occasional failKB: 5’sDL: 10’s
DL were easier than I thought they’d be did them in sets of 10, shouldhave hit them a wee bit harder, maybe would have saved a minute.
The final run was brutality. I’m glad the final stretch was down rather than up.

40:40 rxed except wall ball

Happy bday Jacinto.

M/ 35/ 131 lbs/ 5′-6″27:06 Almost as Rx.(I didn’t know that weight to use for the Kettlebell swings, so I used 35 lbs dumbells (1 pood) next time I’ll use the 55 bls dumbells. Also, my gym doesn’t have any dynamax 20 lb balls, so I use the 10 lb. balls and sometimes exchange 20 lb. dumbell thrusters. I used the 10 lb. ball,… I can’t wait to use the 20 lb. ball… I’ve requested the gym purchase a couple to no avail.WOD felt good… I have been nursing a lower back pull for about 2 weeks, and did this WOD with a slow and steady concentration to really keep my form close to perfect, especially on the D.L. and the kettlebell swings. Using those small 25 lb plates makes you really lower down for the D.L. This felt like a modified filthy fifty. I pushed pretty hard, but took my time with anything involving my lower back.. I want to be able to make gains this summer..Happy Birthday Jacinto-Best,Anton

Had a great time. The last run killed me though — just need to run harder and faster.
