Happy birthday Richard and belated birthday, Liane!
CrossFit Level 1 Certification at CF South Brooklyn on August 8th and 9th
Please contact me if you're interested in going!
David says
Steph are you facing the front of the boat while doing that pull-up? If not then you’re actually starboard not port.
Welcome home!
stephanie says
Thanks David! I miss the boat and room service and beach and…. I could go on – but I’m happy to be home!
I was facing the back of the boat, so I was starboard. That was from when we docked in Jamaica!
Can’t wait to see everyone soon!

Sameer – what kind of running? The Brooklyn Tri club has a steady run every Tuesday night at 7pm. They meet at Grand Army plaza and do 1 or 2 loops and a little core work. They have everything from 7 minute milers to 12 minute milers. It’s a great group to run with but they don’t do 800 meter repeats if that is what you are looking for.
Adrian Bozman says
Just saw the plane pulls. 20,000cals/Day!!!!!
Did you make sandbags yet? If yes, I have a workout for you that made me dry heave in the middle of masonic ave by my apartment.

Sameer Parekh says
hey rob that is cool. we were thinking of doing the cfe type stuff usually. It might be fun to hang with them every now and then though. What do they do with people’s bags and things?
Sameer Parekh says
Hey it says here
http://www.brooklyntri.org/workoutleaders.htm
that Conrad is all about teaching people to drink while riding. Isn’t that illegal? Hm, criminals in the Brooklyn Tri Club.
Sameer Parekh says
hm, 3rd post. anyone know any good autoshops on the jersey side? Maybe I should ask the montclair folks.
I need to get a compression and leak test on my car before I can sell it. ugh. It seems like a leak test is non-cheap.

Laurel says
David’s comments on auto-regulating were very apropos… I’m exhausted, couldn’t do my backsquats as heavy as I did last time because I was too pooped and tight in the chest with sore wrists. blech.
RESTING now.
Malcolm says
Squatting feels great right now. I still need to work on feeling the bottom. 5X3.

Jack great lifting with you, we are still neck and neck in PR’s. We shall see next time…

Good work tonight to my women Bethany, Brandy, Sarah and Becky. Nice technique focus.

I actually did this same workout on Saturday, also maxing at 265. With a little more rest, I should be able to get 275.
Sameer Parekh says
fun backsquats. PR, but nothing crazy, as I am in line with my 1RM (245)

metric plates are confusing! argh. I have to relearn my barbell math.
Jeremy says
Back Squat315x3, 335×3, 345×3, 350×3(PR), 350xfail
Had absolutely nothing on that last set. The 350 felt strong though, which was nice.
Bethany says
105×3, 115×3, 120×3, 125×3, 125×3
I’m staying away from PR attempts for as long as it takes to correct my squat form. I think tonight went pretty well except for the last attemps at 125.
Windmills: 25×3, 25×3, then moved on to some top-of-kip holds and stretching b/c of weird left back ribcage pain.

Backsquats 3×5 199,219,239=PR, 200, 200 Enjoyed being pushed by Malcolm. Shoot, left my eggs in the fridge, hope they are there Wednesday night. Sameer, I have a trustworthy mechanic in Brooklyn if it’s of any use. Let me know.

Not feeling the most energetic today – finished with six strict pullups which didn’t feel all that great and then fifty kipping (sets of 10) which felt a little better.
Sameer Parekh says
jack, thanks, but i am trying to find one jersey-side so i don’t have to schlep my car across town.

a whole different deal. worked on technique. unforgiving as far as lifted quite a lot less than back squat. really good for dialing in form and getting below parallel. highly recommended.
windmill’s were great. looking forward to continuing work on those.
PNF on lats also great and necessary.
B says
Back Squats 3’s 115, 120, 125, 135,135 working on form mostly finding a consistent bottom every time not to low and not to high. Nice working with Bethany and Margie. Margie thanks for your form help.
Dan…thanks for power clean help and being my extra eyes!

Windmills are COOL:15#x8 R, L20#x8 R, L20#x5 R, L(starting to feel some excessive hip mobility so eased off.)
Ring rows 3×10. I HATE ring rows.
Scott says
Back squat 5×3225, 245, 265, 275(pr), 280 fail
I need to focus more on going to at least parallel as I increase the weight. I’m treading in the gray zone.
josh m says
box backsquats 3×5 @ 109 mainly for form i need to work on keeping tight at the botton
Dan R says
Not strong tonight. Barely managed 275×3 where 285×3 was totally doable.
Sigh.
