Having a workout partner is a great way to keep yourself on track. Especially if you're new, teaming up with someone encourages accountability and makes coming to class even more fun. Don't be shy!

I’m surprised (and not at the same time) that nutritional intervention wasn’t mentioned in the article. If insulin sensitivity would potentially help mitigate or prevent Alzheimer’s, it seems obvious that reducing processed forms of carbohydrates would be the first step, not pharmaceuticals.
Also,Adam, We miss you!! come back to us!!

David: Have you read the recent articles in the CF Journal? The ones about the old timers.
David says
Recent? I didn’t see any recently posted but I have seen all the Jim Baker videos. I learned that elderly is a bad word and that I should make you crawl under benches, Jack!
We were anointed with some lockers that are currently downstairs. Can i get a couple people to help me bring them up today?

Tabata was good fun though. 119 situps, 363 singles.

there is a lot of talk about alzheimer’s and diabetes in gary taubes’ excellent book “good calories, bad calories”. it’s quite a dense read, but very very interesting.

Did a scaled down Linda at the morning class.

First time trying a Linda like wod. I should have gone heavier on the bench, those were all unbroken and pretty easy. On the deadlift I broke up rounds 8 and 9, the rest were unbroken. The power cleans weren’t so bad, a little time consuming. I need to learn to squat clean that kind of weight.

Bench Press: 130×5,135×5,140×5,145×5,150×4-failed on last rep. I don’t think I would have even gotten 4 reps without the group encouragement, so thanks.Tabata situps, 68Tabata jump rope 285, single jumps. Sal did almost as many double unders (277), simply amazing to watch, he’s gonna kill in the Games. I love the whole Lyceum thing, BTW,softball pitching, whale workouts, punk rockers, indoor waterfalls- the whole thing is really a fun circus. Great to see Shane again. My wife remarked that I’m coming home later each night I work out. She’s right-who wants to come home when I can hang out with the coolest, fittest people around.

I have the distinct feeling this was all done in jeans and my motorcycle boots, so must have skipped out on the tabata double unders. Will have to make those up at some point…
