DL/Pull AMRAP 12M WODSince I scaled down yesterday’s Back Squats I decided to Scale Up today’s Deads to 225#s.
7 Rounds + 5 DLs & 7 Pull-UpsAll Deadlifts unbroken, pull-ups anywhere from 5’s to 3’s after the first round.
You were right, Jeremy, not a very metabolically taxing workout, just tough to get through it quickly. Im thinking 10 pull-ups instead of 15 would have made this WOD a little more balanced.
David says
Also,
Dan L, STRONG work considering you weren’t kipping!
Jeremy says
as Rx’d (255lb DL)9 Rounds + 1 deadlift.
Margie says
I agree David! The pullups took much longer than the DL’s. Course they are personally more challenging to string together.
It still made me pretty damned hungry.

I hit an official Crossfit milestone on this WOD… I tore up my hand in the middle of it. Sounds like a lot of us did, but that was totally a first for me.
I got 6 rounds + 6 pull-ups. I was pleased with the pull-ups because I’m only using the tan band now for them instead of starting there and having to drop back to blue. If my hands werent so shot I could have done more.
We kept the DLs light because I really wanted to work on my form, but I am not sure I did that so well afterall– I had a tough time keeping my upper back set.
I think I might be starting to like high-rep pull up WODs. Now I just gotta get rid of the tan band.

Anybody that lost their callus cherry yesterday should check out Keith’s series of articles on hand care. He does a pretty thorough job of covering what to before and after you rip up your hands.

M/ 35/ 132 lbs/ 5′-6″As Required (195 D.L.)8 full rounds + 5 deadlifts(In my opinion, the hardest part is grip strength. Gotta have a good grip to pull the D.L. and then teh first 5-8 are o.k. on the pullups, but after a few rounds, I was breaking up my pullups)12 minutes really flies by. I was wondering why 12 was picked, and why 15 pullups, while only 5 deadlifts? Just wondering.
