John and I decided to go back to the ol’ playground to revisit The Deck Of Death…
Shuffle a deck of cards and start the chrono on your watch. Each numbered card is face value, aces are 11, and face cards are 10.
Diamonds = Push ups Spades = Pull ups Hearts = Burpees Clubs = Sit ups Jokers = Double Unders (me: 100, John: 50)
43:58
Slower then last time, I’m pretty sure. My double unders were falling apart and I was feeling a bit nauseous. Not super motived, but still a good workout.
After brunch stopped by the Y
Bench Press (135 lbs): 15, 10, 10, 10, 8
My chest was already pretty shot, just wanted to stay kind of light and get some reps in.

So, in my zeal to get out the door today to begin Shaun’s indoctrination, I left my notebook at home. Bugger. I was feelin a lil weak just with the bar alone, so I knew today was gonna be rough. I loosely recalled my PJ PR around 67, so off we went.
52/57/62/64/65 the last set I had to bail on the second one… which i’ve never done before, so that was a little fun and scary at the same time. but i tried it again pissed off and up it went. I felt good overall, but was bummed that i was not as heavy as i wanted to be. WOD- SHDP at 44, dips on the bars with the red band (normally I do blue). 7:11 overall, but the range of motion on the dips started to degrade in the last set (thanks Jeremy for getting on me for it… tho i shouldn’t have counted the last one)– but i was pleased to be down to the red/white band for the dips now.
so i get home and grab my notebook to fill in the missing page and lo and behold my PR was only a 57×3. turns out I did better than I realized and thought myself much too badass this morning. 🙂 i can live with that.
thanks Margie and David for Shaun’s intro– he really enjoyed himself and its sounding like he’ll be signing up for foundations in March. *yea!*

The push jerks were rough after Fran last night!
134, 145, 155 (fail), 125, 125
125 felt fairly light, but I needed the work on the form.
WOD: 7:33The last 4 dips were just attempts, my arms and chest were dead!

great to be back!
135, 145, 155, 165×1, 125, 125.
wod was 6:40, didn’t go very deep on a lot of the ring dips as I was feeling pretty fried.

Nice Jenna!! That’s a sweet surprise. Glad Shaun had a good time!
Don’t forget whiskey tonight!

push jerks were kind of crappy today. Having some flexibility issues in the shoulder/lats, wasn’t fun. =( Went up to 115 and it was ugly, so I just did a whole bunch of reps at 95 to work on my form.
wod was evil. david says ‘this is a quick burner’ 48 ring dips is not quick, thankyouverymuch.
i don’t even know what my time was. A lot. I figured out the kipping situation though.
you were definitely badass today jenna.

push jerks-was hoping to break 200 today, but it didn’t happen. shoulder and neck where stiff and didn’t feel strong. jeremy, thanks for the pointers. definitely noticing the difference when i don’t wait at the bottom of the drive and also the width of my feet on the press. i’m also not feeling comfortable holding heavy weight in front, so went to the back for last round. worked on form first before increasing weight per david’s instruction before starting.
2×135 2×155 2×155 2×175 2×185
accessory wk – ring push ups instead of dips.4.52
