I didn’t feel very powerful this morning at 5, so I decided to hit Grace not as heavy as rxd.
EVENING session:Shoulder Press 10@67lbs (30 kg), 3×8@90 lbs (40 kg)
10-9…2-1 of DL@BW and Push Upsin 7:48 minutes. More than 1 minute slower than last time when I did it at the Lyceum.

Did Lynne at BW+25lbs, so basically I got to feel what’s it’s like for a 195lb dude to do this workout.
BP/PUR1: 20/20R2: 15/21R3: 10/20R4: 11/20R5: 6/13
The bench press wasn’t that much worse, the pull-ups were much tougher in that my grip semed to fail really quick.

weird… i feel off the bar again on lynn. now that im not using a band for my measly 6-9 pullups its not as big of a deal, but it’s kind of strange anyway. i guess my grip is weak? i dunno.

First round was strong with the pullups — all chest to bar, some were stomach to bar. Strength started to go, and by the last round, I was barely grazing the bar with my collar bones. So they don’t get the C2B label… For all pullups went until I literally FELL off the bar with total grip failure.
Mental note: must do more metcons and need to run more. I’m feeling a Helen in the near future.

Nice job today Margie! Towards the end, you really started stringing the pullups together.

good morning everyone. i got to deadlift this morning.

i tried 305 for my last set but it wasn’t happened. dropped down 5 and it went up ok.
then 2 rounds, max ring pushups, max pullups, nft (no rest between pushup and pullup, though, dammit)

didn’t go to grip failure for the last round of pullups. probably could have squeezed out another couple. must train harder!

oh yeah so that means i’ve blown past my 2x BW DL benchmark. next stop: 435! haha. i guess more realistically my next goal should be 2.5x, so that would be about 360. . . still a bit intimidating.
also, david made us fill out forms again after my grip was destroyed. So that was a workout itself. Hopefully he can read my handwriting.

This one was painful– painful in a good or bad way, I haven’t decided. But…
I did push ups/ pull ups. Used the blue band despite getting my first 2 official unassisted kipping pull ups (watch out cheese lady!).

I feel like my push ups have come along finally– I wasnt sure how I was going to fare with them if I was going to be true to the form and overall I’m pretty pleased with them. Pull ups still need a lot of work. Thanks to Jeremy for getting on me about hanging out at the bottom. While the rest felt good for the popeye arms it really did kill my grip, so beginning with R3 I started to be able to do a few more cause my hands werent hosed.
Jillian, on the other hand, owned the pull-ups like a freaking gymnast. Every time I told her 2 more she did it. It was pretty awesome. Nice work, Jillian!
