Gratitude
You remember the recent visit from our friends Robb and Nicki. What you might not know about Nicki is that she's been quite influential in helping to develop our program. Her and I have worked together over the last few months to help manage our growth while ensuring quality training. Nicki has a "boatload" of experience as a CrossFit coach and an affiliate owner. CrossFit Norcal Strength and Conditioning is not only one of the oldest affiliates (4th), it's one of the nation's best run programs. Look forward to continued influence from the Left Coast for a long time to come. If we install an espresso machine you'll know we've been completely taken over.
Updates
Four 5'x10' Mancino Mats were ordered yesterday. These additions will help us put groups through more tumbling oriented warm-ups and gymnastics based skill work. Playing around on the mats will also be strongly encouraged.

The people whose internet I’ve been pirating for 2 years suddenly decided to lock it up. Bastards.
Yesterday’s WOD46:22 with tan band for pullups.My butt is not quite as sore as I expected it to be. I was kind of dreading doing 5 rounds, but as I finished out my 3rd, I found I couldn’t stop. An interesting experience, to say the least.
Yesterday’s Chow:bfast: very large boiled egg, strip of beef bacon, couple of walnuts, some steamed cauliflower, CLO
lunch: leftover seared tuna and cod/prosciutto, leftover brussel sprouts, red pepper, steamed cauliflower
snack: sardines, couple of walnuts, handful of grapes, a few olives
dinner: turkey, turnips/beets with olive oil and vinegar, pear, some mixed fruit, a lick of creamed coconut
Yay for mats! and for Robb and Nicki. and David. and everyone at SBK. You all make my life fuller.

back in ny – we sadly lost in the championship finals 25-17. it was a hard fought game and we gave them a run for their money. next year…

Did the 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 reps of body weight deadlift (180 lbs) and push-ups in 4:26. It helped a lot to have Jeremy keeping count and coaching during it. I think with a little practice I could get this down under 4, which would be cool.
Day 11 of the challenge and I’m feeling pretty good. Perhaps because I’m not obsessively thinking about it now, I find myself thinking about very forbidden foods in an “oh, I’ll have that” kind of way, then remembering that I can’t and getting a little annoyed. I’m looking forward to Thanksgiving. Also, spending the next two days in Baltimore should prove challenging.

today I was shopping on 5th ave and I happened on the veteran’s day parade. That was great. I’m really glad I happened onto it. I only regret not planning on attending. I love our vets. I think I will support this:

Gymnastics:Some things were really clicking today. Backward rolls to handstands started to come together and the more basic movements are becoming more second nature. We did some back hand springs today.. Scary.
Paleo Challenge has been going well. I’ve been super strict but not logging my meals. I’ve noticed that i’m beginning to crave fats a lot more than carbs which is a significant shift. That being said, i’ve been eating too much fat.
