I woke up this morning barely able to move my ankles. I’ve got to be more conservative with the Jump rope dosage on my perpetually gimped ankles. sigh..
I’ve been working on the computer for just under three hours (which is a LONG time for me to be doing work sitting down) Root Hill is officially my office.
PS. The Chicken Chilli is amazing.

Alan Greenspan says our country’s economic philosophy is bogus.
NOW he tells us.
Putz.

Hey everyone – this is my last weekend out of town (10 in a damn row). Looking forward to getting back to the Lyceum – hopefully Sunday November 2. Sounds like you guys are doing some amazing things–I expect to come back phenomenally out of shape (compared to you crazies), even though I’ve found hotel rooms to be great for hand stand pushups. Had the morning off and did “Cindy” – 19 rounds. Got 20 last time.

275, 295, 315(x1), 295, 305, 315. felt particularly good about the last set given I only got 1 earlier. for some reason, the first rep was always the hardest and then the last two were easy.

405×3, 415×3, 415×3, 425×3, 435×2
Didn’t reset properly on the last one. Wasn’t feelin the pulls today, only the 4th set felt smooth.
Ring Rows 3x8Lateral plank 3×1:15
Did some goat work, 3 rounds of 25 double-unders and 5 muscle-ups. Didn’t put a timer too it, but I wanted to practice the technique under a bit of metabolic stress.

My leetle deadlift… how i’ve missed you.
Good work on form tonight by all.
Fisher’s music was acceptable. I concede the musical reigns to him on DL days.
Margie says
oh yeah the ring rows and lateral planks too….
And shout out to Nicole and Bethany on their numbers. Nice pulls!

Margie– do not let the economics idiots in the media fool you.
Greenspan is the blower of bubbles. He is merely trying to displace the blame for the current crisis onto the heads of the banks who did not “self-regulate”. If he did not blow the 90’s tech bubble and the 2000’s housing bubble via his Fed’s lax monetary policy, we would not be in the hosed situation we are in now.
Margie says
Yes. That’s why he’s a putz. I don’t know jack about economics, but I know his remarks today were pretty effin’ radical.
Anyone read Paul Krugman’s Depression Economics book? Seems like an appropriate read right now.

‘Sup ya’ll.Been pretty sick (flu bug). This is the 2nd DL day I’ve missed in a row. That makes it worse.
Missed my burpees and pullups yesterday. Just finished 167 and 33. I’m still with you Jacinto!
See ya Saturday.
Bethany says
Good to be back, missed y’all!

Thanks for the tips, Jeremy, and the music was appropriate. I’ve really got to concentrate on form for a while.
Get better Charmel. The burpee challenge waits for no flu.
Sameer Parekh says
Hopefully I’ll see you this weekend Charmel as you are better.
Margie: here’s a good post talking about Greenspan’s speech:

–Sad Twist Of Irony
It is fitting that the “Maestro” is humbled before Congress. Unfortunately it is for the wrong thing. And it is hugely ironic that Geeenspan admitted an error for the only thing he has been correct on for his entire career as Fed chairman!
“Private regulation generally has proved far better at constraining excessive risk-taking than has government regulation.”

don’t remember my exact numbers from yesterday, but did work my way up to 122 on the last set of three. thanks shane for helping out with form there. and i do need to work on my knees-to-elbows…that’s for sure.
an open nutrition question for the 7am folks out there: do you find it’s better to eat a more substantial meal before and then smaller after, or vice versa, or what? i found this was hard for me to get right for my energy levels (moreso than with classes at other times) for whatever reason, so i’ve kind of been playing around with it, and am curious for what combo works for others.
eggs & greens before and then my lovely cottage cheese with grapefruit after seems to work out best for general energy level.
feel better charmel!
Sameer Parekh says
Hey Hill.. I always eat my breakfast after the workout. I got into that mode back when I was running, as I couldn’t go running on a full stomach. Sometimes I would have a banana before I went out for a run if my stomach was grumbly. I would eat a large dinner and down a protein drink before bed. I am no longer on a carb heavy plus protein shake diet though. Energy in the morning is always hard!
I have not been eating enough cottage cheese lately.
