Happy birthday Margie! I had a plan to go see Jacinto in the morning at the black box this week but I used the fact that the morning classes don’t start up until next week as an excuse to sleep in! I will have to break the habit next week. I am keeping up on my burpees though. See y’all on Sat.

Deadlifts: 275 x 3205 x 3320 x 3335 x 3350 x 2
The last rep simply wasn’t happening. Blew my concentration and was simply done.
1 round of Margie’s B-day wod with regular wall balls and 40lb dumbbells in 13:17
After class I did my first sub-20 minute Annie (50,40,30,20,10 reps of double unders & sit-ups) in 16:11.That’s about 5 minutes faster then my last time, thanks to some decent double under streaks. That felt good.
Did 2 rounds of “Margie” with regular wallballs (20#) and 40# dbl snatches in 13:35

245/255/265/275/285
i’m pretty happy with those, 285 is about 90% 1rm for me. didn’t keep a great back on every single rep, but i’m bringing it down much better.
1 round of ‘margie’, 2-for-1 wallballs at 10#, 20# snatches. those wallballs aren’t so bad once i get a rhythm for them, but you tire quickly at 2-for-1.
And, because I know you’ve all been waiting for it, my algorithm for how many total burpees you’ve done, based on the day number in the burpee challenge:
if x = the number of burpees you have to do today, then by the end of that day your total burpee challenge tally is:
(x+1)*(x/2)
Got it? Now use the algorithm wisely. Don’t let it fall into the hands of nefarious types.

1 round of today’s WOD14# regular wall ball25# split snatch14 min. Seemed sssssllllllooooowwww. Guess I’m feelin’ my age.
Played around with buellers at 45 and 65# and then TGUs with various heavy-ish implements.
Thanks again for all the birthday wishes. It’s amazing to think that a year ago, none of you were yet in my life. And I could only deadlift, like, 100# or something. Actually I have no idea since I’d never really maxed at it. Anyway, the point is time and change are inextricably bound. We have the capacity to impact the magnitude of their relationship, and sometimes it’s important to nudge a little – even shove. I’ve done a lot of shoving this year, and I think there’s quite a bit more ahead. But it’s equally important to take a rest, be patient and trust that that bond will nudge you, if you let it… like knowing when to swim for shore and when to let the waves carry you. I hope we all choose to play with that balance; it is an intricate and beautiful pursuit.
