This wod taxed my forearms a bit. With a tweak here or there this can be brutal
I think that a nutritional discussion (or two) would be really good for everyone
Great to see you John, continued good luck with your training
Nice to meet you Luke
Feel better Paul, hope to see you tomorrow

nice to meet all of the new folks who came to the beginner class today! Great job coaching us all solo (and with a bum leg), David.
I confess: I like this wod a lot. I need practice on the swings and the jumprope, and I got it today. I definitely wasn’t pushing myself enough for time, but going slow w/form, trying not to fatigue, etc.

Feels good though to be making progress on the jump rope– just a few weeks ago I was the loser of Foundations with my elephant jumproping. Swings still feel really outta control for me, but I guess a itsy bit better than usual.
speaking of nutrition: came home and made a killer cabbage salad. that’s a nice saturday.

16:21 (if I remember correctly)My double unders fell apart after the second round. So much with my “too fatigued to fail” hypothesis. Up till then, I was keeping up with Charmel, and then reality reared it’s ugly head. Still, a good wod, I really enjoyed it, good practice on the double unders.
And I agree, it was great seeing John B. again. I’m seriously impressed by what you’re doing. I’m glad you had time to have lunch with us.
After lunch…Bench Press:65 lb dumbbells x 1275 lb dumbbells x 780 lb dumbbells x 465 lb dumbbells x 12
Incline Bench:115 lbs x 10 x 4
Dips:10, 8, 8, 8
Push-up ladder:11
Also, Margie and Shane, I did see your advice and I am going to listen to it and take a little time off soon, just not yet. Maybe the week after next I’ll take the weekdays off from xfit and the gym, 5 days of nothing, it sounds kind of nice. So thanks for the feedback and I hope you’re having a blast.

Oh! Anyone who’s interested:
Two years ago a friend and I had a Pub Crawl in the neighborhood we grew up in; it was part joke and part to support the new businesses that were opening up there. We hoped it would be annual but we’re just now getting around to attempting a 2nd one, since she lives in CA now…
It’s kind of an untraditional crawl since there aren’t a whole lotta pubs there. But the more the merrier– please feel free to join! Q train to Cortelyou Road…
We’re meeting up at 9 at VoxPop; 1022 Cortelyou Road, on the corner of Stratford & Cortelyou.
By 10, we should be at the bar at the Farm on Adderley; 1108 Cortelyou Road, between Stratford & Westminster.
After that we’ll be at Lucky’s on Coney Island Avenue, down the block. Feel free to call: 917 324 0041

hey fellow beginners,
sorry i didn’t make it this past Wednesday. My knee is really starting to annoy me. i don’t feel confident with any type of squatting. i may even swing by a doc to check it out.
hey hill..funny you are from Ditmas/Kennsington. i teach at Ditmas I.S. 62, so i have unofficially had a pub crawl of the past few years at Vox Pop, The Farm (my ex-student id a chef there), Picket Fence, and way to many happy hours at Club 773. And they are using all of their poetic license by using the word “club” Make sure you stop in there…truly a blast from the past!!!
Great to meet everyone today. David, thank you again for the motivation and help through the wod. Unfortunately my family wants to do a morning brunch tomorrow, so I will not be able to stop in again (I apologize, but my legs are slightly thankful after the last three days of wods ;o)).
The next time I am in NYC I will be stopping in again without a question. if any of you are every in the Cleveland area, feel free to stop in. 🙂

Hey gang!
Looks like a funkadelic WOD today! Good stuff.
Shane and I are back from the first half of strength camp. It was a fun day of playing. Today was mostly about philosophy of fitness, review of squatting and o-lifts, a couple of complexes and a dash of joint mobility.
The vibe is super fun and positive, the people are cool and Chip Conrad rocks. He’s definitely of the same ilk as our fabulous coach, Mr. Osorio. In fact, we have all kinds of fun burpee and bear crawl variations to bring back that you will love David.
The Bodytribe space is awesome – lots of art on the walls, plants and animals scattered around, two bathrooms with showers. Good energy.
Most exciting thing today: seeing Shane hit a 43″ box jump! Freaking awesome.
Tomorrow, we’re going to get our asses kicked.

Robert: great to know that you’ve spent some hours cortelyou pubbing yourself! We did indeed make it round to Club 773 last night, and loved it– I had completely forgotten about the John Wayne & Elvis paintings there…
