Starting Strength Seminar, Day 3

We're hosting Mark Rippetoe & co for the third day of the Starting Strength Seminar and are not holding classes today. For alternative programming options, see the event we're hosting in Prospect Park today.

Flag Football in Prospect Park

Are you ready for some football?  We will be hosting an informal flag football game in Prospect Park on Sunday, September 8th.  We had a similar gathering a few years ago and it was great fun, despite leaving many of our weekend warriors hobbling around for the next week!  Plan to meet at the Long Meadow field around 10AM, although we may have to move to find a good open space (check the blog for updates!)  Bring picnic blankets, food, drink, babies, dogs, friends and your GAME FACES!  This event is open to everyone, even folks who just want an excuse to hang out with the park and drink beer while people chase each other around. We will probably play until around 2 or 3 pm depending on how the day goes.

Email noah(AT)crossfitsouthbrooklyn if you're interested in helping set up/break down or have any questions.

wouldve loved to play football today but have to take Kamau to a playdate for his new school. We should do it more.

Jeremy and I had talked about this awhile ago - but on one of the rest weeks in the future we should do a NFL/NBA style draft combine

test our vertical, 40 times, agility (shuttle), bench press., etc.

Jess and Chris - Thanks for coaching a fun morning at the track yesterday!

It nice to have the opportunity to learn about and to practice the mechanics of running. I've had a mild puke reflex upon hearing the word "track" since high school. Happy I ignored it and made it out. I may even try to test my 400m run again..

Beautiful morning, great part of Brooklyn, awesome crowd.. perfect start to the weekend : )

I wished I could have made it yesterday to the track but unfortunately I had to work, so I planned on going to another box today which i did. I visited crossfit flushing which is a new box just opened up about 5 months ago. The class was about only 6 people with me included and thats a FULL class! The owners are very welcoming really great couple. I enjoyed my time there and would definitely go back when my box is closed!

40 situps
50 squats

I did chest to bars and knee pushups TIME-39:18
