Can anyone recommend a good home cleaning service in the Park Slope area? Thanks!

@Lily. I use si se puede. It is a women-owned women-run business designed to create living wage jobs. You contact the organization for the initial appointment (and you can request a particular person). You and the woman work out the schedule and fee. I've been using the same person for several months and have been very happy with her. I'm happy to give you the name of the person I use if you want.

Just reiterating how great Si Se Puede is! I just got home to the most sparkly, perfect apartment of all time. I could actually smell the delicious clean scent from the lobby of my building. Highly, highly recommended!

Hi! I am going camping for the first time in my life and wondering if anyone has a somewhat large tent and/or queen sized air mattress that they would be willing to lend me for ten days in August. Alternately if anyone has any recommendations for either that aren't too expensive that would be great too! Thanks!

Ariel, outdoor retailers do rentals. Eastern Mountain Sports, REI, or Gear to Go (which is a local business) would be good places to start.

Can anyone recommend a long term storage provider? I'm sketched out by the places on 3rd/4th ave, due to the flooding issues on the Gowanus.

Does anyone have any Olympic plates (bumper or iron) they're looking to dump?

I recently had some work done on my car, a 2002 mini cooper and the experience made me realize how much I adore my mechanics (and not just because they have an amazing dog). I've been taking my car to L&M mechanics on Utica Ave for a few years and they are great. The guys there have always been honest and fair and I wanted to pass along their details for any car issues - L&M Foreign Auto, 718-451-9894. Highly recommend.

@josi we have a "2 bike" floor to ceiling mount bike rack that we actually are looking to get rid of. It screws into the floor and into the ceiling (we've never actually screwed it into the floor). The bikes rest horizontal to it (so more against the wall) on hooks attached to the vertical slim frame - basically one bike near the floor and one near the ceiling. It has always been super study and it would be very tricky for the kids to get the bikes off it or knock it down unless it's not screwed in and they are all dangling from one side of it at once (maybe?).

Get in touch if you want more info and/or to take it off my hands. :D

Threes Brewing opening up at 333 Douglass sometime in October! From the Brew York site:

"In addition to up to a dozen of his own beers, the bar will also pour a lineup of guest taps. Doroski rattled off local breweries he hopes will round out the beer selection like Other Half, Peekskill, and his brewing alma mater Greenport Harbor. Threes will also have wine on tap for the oenophiles. And while the focus is on the drink, the space will also include a retail shop up front serving coffee from Ninth Street Espresso, an event space acoustically designed for musical performances, and an extensive kitchen with a wood-fired oven (they’re sill working on the food menu). The intention is for Threes to be more than just a brewery, but a space for the community to come together."

My company helps people celebrate loved ones in a meaningful, nonmaterialistic way. We are looking for a handful of families who would be interested in our high touch service where we help them create a meaningful gift at a greatly discounted rate if they wouldn't mind letting us use them as examples on the website. The spiel to explain more is below, and please feel free to reach out if you're at all interested or have questions. And please pass on to anyone you may know who would be interested! ruth [at] imprint.us.

Do you have a loved one with a birthday, anniversary, or graduation coming up and not sure what to get them? Or just want to celebrate someone you love? We have a great solution.

We help people make Imprints: a beautiful collection of photos, videos, wishes, and toasts. For a special occasion or just because, gather your thoughts and memories about a loved one and invite friends and family to add theirs. Together, you’ll create a meaningful, enduring gift. Check out a great example here: www.haveanicebaby.com.

While Imprint is normally a self service tool (still in private beta), we’re launching a “high touch” version of this called Imprint Pro. We make a professional-level Imprint, and do all the heavy lifting for you (see more at www.imprintmemories.com). If you're interested in making an Imprint for your loved one, please reach out! ruth [at] imprint.us

Can any of you riders out there recommend a decent motorcycle mechanic? Or are they all flakes like the one I'm dealing with now? I have a 1980 Honda.

Thanks!
