We're moving out of our 2 bed, 1 bath apartment at Smith St. & Dean St. and would love someone from the community to take our spot. Apartment is one of two units in the building, directly above Lucky Jeans (one flight of stairs), and has a large deck off of the kitchen. Apartment includes new (2014) washer/dryer and is pet friendly. Furnishings (e.g., curtains, blackout shades, AC, patio furniture) negotiable. Landlord is asking $3400/mo. No broker fee, at the moment.

If interested, let me know and I can arrange a showing or send along pictures. Thanks!

I'm looking to buy an apartment. How nice if a CFSBK member were looking to sell and we could arrange a transaction through CFSBK classifieds! It's worth a shot. I'm looking for a 1 bedroom apartment in the "starter apartment" price range. I'm looking in Brooklyn - Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, Midwood, anywhere...

If you are selling or have some real estate secrets to share, or a broker you really like, I'd love to hear from you! Please message me at

My real estate secret is that Fifth Avenue Committee (near corner of Degraw) gives free first time home buyer seminars and counseling. I attended the seminar and recommend it. They not only lift the veil of mystery from the home buying process, but also share info on a number of grants that may be available to buyers.

Andrew & I need to move closer to the gym! Our lease is up May 31st, and we would like a start date anywhere between May 15th and June 1st, 2015. Looking for a 1BR for $2k or less, so probably not Park Slope ;) Prospect Park South, Ditmas Park, anything a reasonable walking distance in a pretty neighborhood with friends around. A girl can dream.. Please contact me if you know of anything!

I've been meaning to post here about my building that I love - it's at 421 Degraw St. (on the other side of the canal from the gym). It's a 90 unit building that used to be an old Catholic school - beautiful and very well maintained. But even better it's rent controlled for middle-income people (you can't make too little or too much in order to qualify), so it's the only way I can really afford to live in this area in a studio. It has studios through 2 bedrooms, and there are no broker fees.

There is generally a waiting list to get in. Person in the management office to contact is Mike Lonuzzi if you're interested - (718) 834-0770 /

I have 2 rooms available in my apartment. We have 5 total roommates. It's a great location and pretty close to the gym and really close to the bergen 2/3 and also atlantic terminal. More specifically, on the corner of 5th ave and prospect place. The lease renews on September 1st, so you would be subletting until then.

There's a room available July 15th and the rent is around $1230*
There's a room available August 15th and the rent is around $1050*

If you're interested you can email me at me[at]

* Rent is likely to go up this year when the lease renews on September 1. It has done that every year historically. We suspect it will increase $40 per person.

Hey guys. I'm looking for a studio for Sept 1 in Park Slope, Gowanus, Windsor Terrace, Prospect Heights, Carroll Gardens.... anywhere nearby. Hi all,

McKensey and I are moving to DC on very short notice and are looking to unload our apartment as of November 1 (and if you need sooner, like 10/26 we can make that work also). Our apartment is a 2-floor (spiral staircase inside!) 1 Bedroom apartment. It has a washing machine and washer dryer. It's probably around 900 square feet. It is 1.5 baths. Tons of storage space, space for a desk, and central air. We really love the apartment and are sad to move, but would love to keep it in the family. $3000 per month. Great landlord and neighbors.

The apartment is on the corner of 4th and Atlantic, right above the Dunkin Donuts. Shoot me an email at:

joel dot wertheimer at gmail dot com if you want to come see it.

Hey all! My roommate is moving in with her boyfriend and so I am looking for a person to take her room.

Here are the quick details:
- Crown Heights (between the 2345 Franklin stop and C stop); 1.5 miles from the gym
- Room is large (approximately 12x17) and lots of space in the living room (can hold bikes and such, seriously, there is lots of space)
- Rent is less than $1100 - did I mention rent-stabilized?
- Looking for Jan 1 or 15 move in (not quite certain yet, might even be able to do Feb 1)

If you know anyone who may be interested, please pass along the information and email me - rose dot kayleigh at gmail. Thanks!

Do you or your friends/family need a place to stay for the holidays? I'm offering up my Park Slope apartment (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps ~4-6, 6th Ave. and Union St.) from December 24-28. All I'm looking for in return is someone to take care of Kima, my five-month-old kitten. She's extra adorable and just needs a little attention, food twice a day, and a clean litter box. I really don't want to board her, so if you know of anyone who is around, likes kittens, and wants a free place to stay, please let me know! lvs3h(at)virginia(dot)edu.

I am looking for a room in an apartment starting any time between August 15 and October 1 (though ideally Aug 15 or September 1). I am open to anything in Fort Greene, Prospect Heights. Park Slope. Boerum Hill. Carroll Gardens or Cobble Hill, and, of course, the closer to the gym the better. I'd love to find something with rent under $1,300, and would ideally live with one other roommate instead of 2 or 3. Please let me know if you know of anything!

My wife and I are looking for tenants to rent the ground floor apartment in our home in Bed Stuy. It's a newly renovated 2BR/1.5 BA duplex with central air/heat, washer/dryer, and finished basement. We're on Halsey Street near Nostrand, so just off the Nostrand A/C.

Rent would be $2,700, starting November 1. Happy to send pictures, set up a visit, or answer any questions. Email me at pcmartin1 [at] yahoo if you're interested.

We have an apartment for rent on Sackett St, between Hicks and Henry in Carroll Gardens. New-ish renovation, 2 bedroom, 1 bath. Second floor. Rent is $3,000/month and is available 1 Feb 2017

Hey guys,

Daniel and I just moved out of a lovely 2 bed, 1 bath + private patio (~400sq feet) second floor apartment in Park Slope. It was renovated less than a year ago and only half a block from the park. E-mail me at thaisamsl at gmail and I can send you pictures, talk a little more about the place, and put you in contact with the landlord. He's asking for $4,425 (no fee).

PS: The place is great. The only reason we moved out is b/c we got our own place.

Hey everyone,

I'm moving out of my room in a 3 bedroom in prospect heights. It's a good deal, $1000 a month. My two roommates are awesome and looking for someone to fill the spot. There's a really big common room/kitchen with big windows and high ceilings. The bedroom itself is a little small but on the corner of the building with 2 big windows. Here's a craigslist posting for it.

Email me if interested!

I have to move out of my apartment 1 month early since I'm currently working in Los Angeles (that's why you haven't seen me around the gym!). If you or anyone you know wants either a 1 month furnished sublet end of March - April 30 OR wants to lease my apartment (empty) starting April 1 please let me know and I will put you in touch with the realtor (it can't be rented directly from the landlord).

Boerum Place and Bergan Street (1/2 block from F/G, close to A, C, R, 4, 5, 2, 3)

2 bedroom, 1 bath, 4th floor of an elevator building
huge windows in each room
heating/AC in each room
laundry, bike storage and play room in building
beautifully maintained building full of awesome people and very family friendly
dishwasher, microwave, new fridge

My guess is rent for a new lease will be around $3500 but realtor can confirm. Sublet price for 1 month will be $3100 but negotiable.

Hi All,

My beloved 1BR is available come 5/15 or 6/1. $1650/month. On the corner of 12th St and 5th Ave in Park Slope, a 20 min walk from the gym.

Email me at bhsangree * if you or anyone you know might be interested!

March 27, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterBen S

More info on my 1BR:

$1650 per month (though I can't guarantee the landlord won't raise that, but I'm sure it wouldn't be by much). It is right above Commonwealth bar on 12th and 5th. Even though its a chill neighborhood spot, some people won't consider living above a bar, which is why rent is pretty low for what it is. The noise hasn't been an issue for me, but if you are looking for complete peace and quiet, it might not be the best choice. The biggest issue is in the summer when the backyard is open until 11. You can't hear people from the bedroom, but you can definitely hear ambient chatter from the living room. The music is hardly ever an issue, but when (occasionally-every month or two) it is, I just text the bartender and its never a problem to turn it down. I sleep with a fan next to the bed and that works for me.

I love this place and am very sad to say goodbye. Get in touch if interested!

March 27, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterBen S

Hey Ben,
I'm super curious about your place. What is the estimated move in date?!

March 29, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterAndy Geary

Our 1 bedroom apt w/shared yard at 18th & 4th Ave is available July 1! Nice landlords, quiet neighbors, and well-maintained building. I don't have the exact rent yet, but I'm guessing it will be right around ~$2k. It's an easy walk/bike to the gym, or you can hop on the R during the winter. Email me for more details! katetkacik at gmail.

Hey all,
I will be moving into, and then renting out part of a 2 Bedroom apartment.
August 1 move in date.
It is right up the street from the gym! on Degraw between 4th and 5th ave.
There are separate entrances. This is an older building, but kept well - each person will have an adjoined living room with their bedroom.
I will have my dog living with me in my portion, and shared space (kitchen/bath).
He doesn't get along with some other dogs and wants to kill cats - so this would be best for someone that doesn't mind seeing my dog once in a while, and does not have any pets of their own.
If you are interested to hear more, or know of someone who'd make a great roommate, please email me - Lsnisky at gmail . com

(I will have pics of the space for rent end of the month / early July - can also show the space in July)
